My mate spoke directly to Champyon System by the chinese twitter and that was what he was told; it wouldnt surprise me if the guy taking care of the account didnt know exactly what was going on (they had received documents for a pre-selection, not wildcard).

At least if they wanted a one in the Middle East, they could have selected Oman, which would have offered a much better parcours, possibly designed by Merckx.

The only possibility is echelons forming, thereby creating a split in the peloton.

It's also held too late for Boonen, he loves Qatar, Maybe Vanmarcke will win and you will sing it's praises

How depressing is it that the best we can possibly hope for from a World Championships parcours is a ride up and down a corniche, because that maximises the exposure to crosswinds?

How many fans will there be too? When's the next climber's Worlds then, huh? I don't mean like Mendrisio, that was for the climbers the way Geelong was for the sprinters. I mean like Duitama. You know, if we're balancing out WC parcours, there should be a Worlds that just goes up and down different routes up Monte Grappa.

Yr, I heard about Ponferrada but their mayor has told that they will honour the commitment, and if it stays as the host I don't think they will make the parcours easier.

On UK, I hope it's not London.

The vendee region was also hoping to bid for a WC and i read that Norway submitted a failed bid for the 2016 edition, so they might also return.

How about looping around Alto de Arrate? That should do the trick

Arrate is a dead-end. You COULD, however, do the steep part, and then turn left to go over Ixua, down to Etxebarria, and then over the climb adjacent to Arrate to return to Eibar. This would keep most of what's good about Arrate without going all the way to the summit (which is actually called Usartza).
