Okay, I didn't read that post because it didn't change the fact that I - due to whistful thinking - thought that the new rule meant teams would be allowed to skip more races, not fewer.
And I certainly didn't expect a rule so *** stupid that it doesn't even allow teams to collectively declare a race not worthy for WT status by a majority deciding to skip a race.

But I guess UCI really wants to make sure a majority of teams ride their pet projects...

The UCI decide which races get WT status, and the only way they will revoke their decisions seem to be if the organisers either don't put the races on TV somewhere or, which is probably the most important to the UCI, fail to pay for their licences.

But the new rules have clearly been implemented to serve organisers rather than the teams, and I can understand that. Now they no longer run the risk of having to "bribe" teams to get them to come to their races.

Or maybe if a race organisers need to "bribe" teams, the race doesn't deserve WT status.

And not like the TV requirement rules help much, if only requires TV coverage in - what? - three countries.
At least tell me that has been expanded...

Freire is missing, he left without any of his things and his car was found later apparently, I can't read the article as it won't translate;

It doesn't say anything about his car, I believe, just that he's missing.

Dutch national championships in jeopardy because we’re hosting a NATO conference that requires 30,000 policemen - which, by the way, is already a field is fairly lacking in personnel. This is such a stupid country. Would rather invest all resources into hosting things than actual development.

Where was Valverde during all this? He is always suspect in any cycling crime mystery
Sat just behind the 2nd search party group looking for Freire, doing nothing and shrugging his shoulders when they looked behind and asked him to do some searching. Police inspector was quoted as saying 'we would've found Oscar hours before we did if not for Bala's efforts.'
