Michele said:He mention that he wants to keep Voeckler and Rollands, so that sounds like there's other teams interested in them and ready to do a higher offer.
Bmc have 20 millions while he wanna go from 7 to 9.

Cancellara and Voeckler to ride the Tour of Belgium (May 21 - 26)
Ferminal said:It was never confirmed and became unlikely as time went on, especially since his successful classics season.
I doubt he will do any racing for the next month.

movingtarget said:What career ? A career of one pointless attack after another. Had the road sense of a greyhound.

But at CSC and later T-Mobile/Columbia, he was a really good man.
Dazed and Confused said:In reality Gerdemann is peloton fodder. Easily replaceable . If he thinks cycling is fun he should accept getting on a team without pushing the budget.
RHRH19861986 said:Gerdemann was not that bad. Remember his 2005 TdS stage win in Lenk, or 2007´s TdF Grand Bornand stage.
This switch to Milram was not great, and after that, at Leopard and RadioShack, he was just a helper who could easyly be replaced.
But at CSC and later T-Mobile/Columbia, he was a really good man.
Ryo Hazuki said:gerdemanns csc performances are best discussed in the clinic.
RHRH19861986 said:Correct
But, nonetheless, he arrived in pro Tour ranks like a rocket, which well indicates a certain class he had and still has. He was on CSC for six weeks when he dropped his TdS breakaway on a medium hard stage, which consisted of riders like Elmiger and other experienced men.
Ryo Hazuki said:he was a so so u23 talent. but in csc he started flying from the get go and as soon as riis reformed his "ways" after 2005, gerdemann left immediately to t-mobile where his progress halted pretty much immediately

RHRH19861986 said:Gerdemann was considered as by far best U23 man at this time, but you´re not that wrong, though: he wasn´t allowed to show his talent that often, because already at this time, he had a difficult personality, and although being so talented, was mostly not nominated by German U23 coach Peter Weibel for the important U23 international races done by the national team.
He got his spot at CSC via great performances in his Akud Arnolds German U23 Bundesliga team (a national series of about 8 races a year), and most importantly because he was introduced to Riis by Jens Voigt...
Ryo Hazuki said:no he wans't he never wa.s he never did anything remarkable in u23 and he was 23 mind you when he signed with csc. big u23 talents signed at way younger age and won many u23 races. gerdemann never won anything. he was only massively hyped like usually happened with german riders at the time
RHRH19861986 said:Well, like I said, he couldn´t show anything, because he hardly ever rode internationally. Within Germany, no one was close to him, he beat the guys who got selected for U23 national team and rode internationally by lenghts when racing against them in Bundesliga races.
He had offers to sign for ProTour teams already at 21 or 22, but teams finally decided against him because German federation and specifically U23 coach Weibel advised managers to not sign Gerdemann due to his "selfish and non teamplayer" mentality.
