That TTT is 35km long? So the ASO is already preparing Froome's 5th Tour win?Valv.Piti said:This smells like a crash fiesta.
Nevertheless, a 35 km test against the clock for teams is always interesting. The Tour doesn't include them very often, but when they do, its at least 30-40 km, so chapeau in that aspect.

I actually even knew that it's a TTT, no idea why I wrote ITTmikii4567 said:Gigs_98 said:Valv.Piti said:This smells like a crash fiesta.

TTT (though Sky will also build an advantage tbh)

Tho a ITT had been even more interesting from my point of view. If I remember correctly, the time trial in 2008 was also in Cholet. The 'short' one Schumacher won.

Will this cause some complications for the next Giro?
staubsauger said:I have to admit that I actually kinda like ttt's. Either the short ones of below 10 kilometers which are held as pure showmanship to start off a gt. Or the 60-70 kilometers long ones from the US Postal Service days. But these 40 kilometers ttt's are neither fish nor fowl.

I think it's a more balanced route than last year which was very mountanous and discouraged GC riders who went to Dauphine.Valv.Piti said:Tour de Suisse route announced.
I guess its decent, but nothing more than that. No pure sprint stage is a plus, the time trial will be more deciding, but not particular fond of the mountain stages considering the geography they have available. Also, for the love of god, please stop with those 100 km stages, they are seriously driving me nuts. And the worst part of it is people actively are endorsing it!
I don't really want to have this conversation again (this has been debated so many times on this forum), but I couldn't disagree more.sQiD said:I think it's a more balanced route than last year which was very mountanous and discouraged GC riders who went to Dauphine.Valv.Piti said:Tour de Suisse route announced.

For the 100 km stages, i prefer watching 2 hours of full gaz racing rather than waiting for 5 hours and nothing happen in the end. That's the new model of racing and i think we will see more of them in grand tours as teams continue to neutralize races. The inauguration of the Hammer series will also be a good opportunity to test something new and challenge the statu-quo.

We will soon watch that in this year TDF as the whole races will be broadcasted.Max Rockatansky said:sQiD said:I think it's a more balanced route than last year which was very mountanous and discouraged GC riders who went to Dauphine.Valv.Piti said:Tour de Suisse route announced.

When have you watched 5 hours of a Tour de Suisse stage?
Nobody who is a serious TdF contender will do this race. Just like in the last years.
