It's a decent route as Sanremo warm-up, but it has nothing to do with Milano-Torino. It could far more easily have been a new finish of Gran Piemonte.not great, but better than last year at least. Here's a profile of the final 30k:

Simply put, they need to bring Superga backI don't mind the new course, but Milano - Torino really needs to figure out what sort of race it wants to be. Superga rolling over in his grave watching these developments.
Judging by the startlist, all of them except UAE (and to some extent Bora) seem to think it's gonna be a sprint. Hirschi, Ulissi and Christen can just TTT away on one of the climbs to do a Gewiss-Ballan reenactment.Like Ive skipped through the start list earlier today and well... it's really bad. There's a good amount of WT teams but half of them is just filled with pack fodder.
You don't think any of Zingle, Bettiol, Van den Berg, Vermaerke or Lutsenko can follow those three?Judging by the startlist, all of them except UAE (and to some extent Bora) seem to think it's gonna be a sprint. UAE brings the sh!t race king, so I guess they will give it a try, at least.
In Very Important News: according to rumour, the phone booth on Il Poggio has been removed.
Hopefully just for renovations.
Acrog-Tormans Facebook announcementJonas Bresseleers, a 24-year-old cyclist, was killed in a serious traffic accident in the Belgian village of Meer on Friday, March 15 his former team Acrog-Tormans reported. Bresseleers suffered a serious head injury in the collision and died on the spot a short time later. It is the second fatal accident for a rider from the team in five years. The sudden death of Bresseleers hits the Acrog-Tormans team hard. "Words are inadequate for this untold drama. Much strength to the relatives to bear this loss," the formation wrote on Facebook. The team experienced the same horrific situation five years earlier. Then it was Stef Loos, Bresseleers' teammate, who died in a traffic accident.
It wasn't there, was it?I'll be watching very carefully on Saturday to see if it's there
It's early so could definitely change, but weather for next weekend (and Friday) looking pretty great for hard races! Lots of wind and also some rain.

yeah, last year they had longer transfers than stages, which wasn't ideal either of course. But this way, it has nothing to do with a "Deutschland Tour", and on top of it, the parcours looks bad as well.Probably inevitable, given it's a four day stage race. Less inevitable is how boring the route looks

At what point was it that the Tour of Britain decided to become shite? I remember a few years where it was genuinely enjoyable, with some fun Lake District and South Downs stages.British Cycling say hold that stein![]()
Twinned with Swindon, perhaps.Schweinfurt, what an epic name for a city, though.
