Vino said something along these lines about Gilbert a week or two ago, but it was more like a speculation "who i'd like to get in the team", he was like: "Oh Gilbert, yeah, he's a classy rider, a few of my fellow riders (jab towards Iglinsky?) should learn from him even if they're older, but i don't know".

Nothing certain.

He said he wants to buy Gilbert, but that he's still under contract(but he has a buy-out clause in his contract, mind you). The interviewers asked him if he still thought the same about what he said of Gilbert couple of weeks ago and than he answered.

Holy crap does everyone here speek Dutchy language

Whats in the article?
Not much. Vino would like Gilbert to be his successor at Astana. According to the article, this could happen because Vino calls Gilbert his friend, they both live in Monaco and have the same manager. Vino thinks Gilbert would be a fine example for his young Kazakhs. Basically it's just a praise of Gilbert rather than actual news.

But I read something different in a Belgian newspaper mind you, but I couldn't find the article online, so I chose that one instead.

In that article Vino said he wants to buy Gilbert for next year. Because it seems Gilbert has a buy-out clause in his contract(Although Vino was under the impression that his contract ends next year, but it ends in 2012 not in 2011).

Yes it's speculation, but interesting speculation.

rui costa was on the phone with the portuguese eurosport and said that a deal is close with a pro tour team.

any guesses?

Since you saw it live ... I've read in other forum that, when asked if Vacansoleil, Rabobank or Radioshack was one of the teams, he replied "not far from the truth". Can you confirm?

I just hope it's not radioshack. That would make all the "world tour" portuguese riders in one team likely to end . Plus I can't stand them. Would like him to be at Rabobank but a team like vacansoleil or quick step might be better for him results wise. (more freedom).

indeed he said that. but i think he just wanted to free himself from the pressure the eurosport guys were making. they wanted to know the team like all of us wanted on facebook. so he was just ending the subject.

i hope he goes to saxo but now that you guys said it quick step would be great. no1 big for the hilly classics and GQ so he could have all the freedom he wanted

i hope they will not start the world champs too.it's a very logical, decent decision.

They dont have the balls.

I would have support them if they dare to boycott GTs/ Monuments/ Worlds.
