No. Soccer players shouldn't be given awards considering when somebody touches them they roll around like somebody has chopped their leg off.

Don't agree a motor sports person should get an award either. Seriously, too many uncontrollable variables for my liking.

To be a pro its not about whether you play football. Its about what academy you go to. Football is a technique sport so those who go to an academy automatically become way better than those who don't even if they are less talented.

Its no coincidence that out of all the millions and millions that about 4 of the top 10 and 20 of the best 50 players in the world come out of 1 academy.

So the pool is far far smaller. Messi is the best out of all the kids that went to academies but I think of those millions who play, if you gave them all a chance some of the might have been as good.

He started playing at a very young age (another neccesary stipulation) for a local club then 2 years later, while still very young, started playing for the academy of a top flight Argentinian team.
