The thing about Uran is if he does the Giro along with the Ardennes he might be over raced. That would not be a good thing. Also if he rides the Vuelta he would most likely have to work for Froome.

the real problem for rigo is the he will peak for the ardennes, so probably his condition will fade in the third week, which is the most important and difficult one.

in recent years only de luca was able to maintain his peak after the ardennes till the end of the giro....but this argument could be clinic related.
Purito? He was better in the final week of the Giro than in the first. And then he went on to crush the Dauphiné as well.

Don't know about that. If you want to peak for the ardennes in general you don't take a break of racing for almost a month. When they decided to (re-)focus on the Giro, they maybe dropped Pais Vasco, which would mean the ardennes classics aren't that important for Rigo this year.

purito was not a real factor in the giro
imho , he was quite deceiving, but it is true he was better in the last week
he was already out of contention at that time
rigo is already now in good condition and it is a long way still to the giro

purito was sick in the first week and on anti biotics. without that he would've been one of the best in gc. uran won't do pais vasco and do only the ardenne races and then the giro

the guy is from 1987. he's barely done any gt's. sivtsov is 5 years older and laughable at best to call him a better gt rider

He's done 4 GTs already and finished them all. Which is 2 more than Tom Boonen

That's a lot for a 25 year old. I can only remember one great Vuelta by him where he was sitting in the top 10, but crashed which cost him a lot of places.

So Radioshack send a great TTer to the Giro and two great climbers to the Tour...

One great climber, but yeah.

Not sure if Kloden can still bring it. Regardless, at least 2 of the 3 hardest mountain stages in this year's Giro don't suit him at all.

Wow, I won't believe in it until I see him in the final startlist. It's a highly strange decision. On the other hand, if Kreuziger could take 5th place in such a hard full of overly steep climbs edition, there's no reason to assume that Klodi could have been worse. And anyways it can be only 4-5 places at best. But I hope to the bitter end that Klodi will destroy everyone even on Mortirolo. :p

Klöden to the Giro would be one huge joke.
If he has anythging left, he would shine at the Tour, cause the route is excellent for him.
On the other hand, no matter what the form is, the giro doesn't suit him at all.

It depends on what goals he sets. If we are saying about the victory and top-3 both Giro and Tour don't suit him. There won't be really explosive climbers in the Giro and Kloden is probably the best at defensive climbing. I'm afraid of Manghen-Pampeago stage, all the rest shouldn't be a problem.

I'm saying, though. No Frank Schleck at the start is no big loss for the Giro. :p

I'd rather have a real champion in the race, like Vino.

I wonder what shape he's in, though.

in which 3 of the 4 he crashed hard and or got sick. only tour 2009. his first gt he had nothing going bad and he shined in the final week, despite being the youngest rider that tour with age 22

it remained the brightest Uran's flash in all his participations in the GT's and to this day.

They spliced together quotes from 2 riders

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/ups-and-downs-for-radioshack-nissan-in-tour-of-basque-country

I am suffering, but this is logical. I was sick after Paris-Nice. I had a fever and then later stomach problems.

I had to miss Criterium International because of that. So I miss racing in my legs. Pais Vasco will be hard for me but very useful, too.

I figured it was a good moment to try something. One of my goals this season is the Giro d’Italia, so step by step I think I am getting there.

After Catalunya I worked really hard. Now I am in better shape. I can see that

I think it is both logical and illogical. Andy gets first say - and rightly so - as far as GC GT riders go at RSNT. He has clearly decided long ago that he would again focus on the TDF, despite the parcours being anti him. And he and Frank tend to like to focus on the same race, so probably Frank will do that too, even though he is no better a time trialist than his brother. Where does that leave someone like Kloden then? He could be the third stringer at the Tour (or maybe not even that) or he could have a chance at team leadership in the Giro. The May race does not suit his characteristics like it does the Schleck's, but it appears likely to have a significantly weaker field focusing on it than does the Tour. Andreas may see this as his final season (even though he has a two year deal) and would prefer a shot at a top 5 finish in Italy rather than a 20th or so placing in support of others in France.

Usually seems to be less chaos as far as crashes go in the first ten days too. He might actually make it to a mountain relatively healthy :D

On a final note, not having Fabian potentially there would hurt him and the team in the TTT.
