on a serious note, i don't think sky will be ever that strong as they were in this year's tour, but froome or wiggins can easily win without the train. in the tour they were by far better than anyone else on the climbs and actually the train performed a controle function purely.

LOL, they weren't far better than Nibali in the high mountain stages. Certainly not Wiggo. You must really hate Nibali. :(

All Wiggo did was sit wheels all day. He only took the occasional pull when Froomey got a bit tired and STILL managed to get himself in trouble on a climb that suited him better than anyone else. That wasn't an act.

Yeah, drafting matters.

lol why should he?

hm, he elected your country as a platform for rising of his own star!! ;)

18.Valve (pithy) i hate no one and look up to nibbles' strength, but froome and wiggins just had no necessity to show all their cards, so i think they were muuch stronger, though certainly we cannot extract this just of the results of mountain stages.

I don't ever remember Wiggins attacking.

verbier, monte grappa. and yet he was going to commit a decisive move on morzine-avoriaz.

he's not hopeless in this regard. based on his dynamics he may start flying next season.

2 of the most impressive attacks on the history of this sport. and 50 meter burst to get to frank's and nibali's wheel on verbier and his super powerful attack on mote grappa that was brought back without any difficulty by the liquigas domestiques.

the route is taken almost entirely from an italian forum. While the second week seems almost certain, the first one has been basically guessed :p
the poster labels stage 5 as ITT, but from Altamura to Barletta there are 70 kms. At least they dropped it. :D
As for Ischia, RCS have still to decide upon going there. So the first week of the Giro is not fixed yet.

ok, answer this question better.
he didn't go full blast on grappa. that was the repetition of tour attack. liqui werent interested in him and let him go. wiggo just worked out his 3-4k and dropped back.

Plus, two TTs in the last three days seem highly unlikely to me.

Actually the original post had the last stage as road stage Vicenza - Milano.
Considering RCS keep saying that they'll never put a pan flat stage as the final one, that is not happening.

Today there's an article that says Ischia has been dropped. What's interesting is that it adds that the third stage will start from Sorrento, while the second stage could feature Monte Faito (either a MTF or descent finish) :) That would be the best news I've heard in a while

Indeed, although I hope RCS won't go Unipublic on us. This should help combat the comparatively low viewership figures of the first week(end), though.

If they wanna go Unipublic using climbs like Monte Faito I can live with it :D
Though, anyway, the most likely option is rumoured to be a finish in Vico Equense (straight off the descent) or in Sorrento (after a few kms of Up&down).

A proper climb on Stage 2?

Blasphemy, we need 6 sprint stages before a gap-creating climb!
Calling this "proper climb" is a bit of an euphemism :p

Well it'd be the hardest (finishing) climb in July. But yeh, +1000m = proper climb. Or perhaps better put, not a pre-Vuelta Purito climb = proper climb.

This looks like a great climb, especially for the first sunday of the race when we are used to a flat borefest.
They may decide to arrive after the descent to favour Nibali i guess.
