I wonder if Dombrowski is actually on better form than we've thought, and has been saving himself for the final week, which should suit him a lot better than the stages up until now...

Dumoulin has 3 teammates with him plus Ten Dam in the break. Movistar plan hasn't really worked out thus far.
Bahrain the most disappointing team: no rider in the break and probably only Delfino with Nibbles.

What you mean? It's perfect for Movistar so far. They have Izagirre, Herrada and Amador in the break.

Landa with Deignan, Henao and Kiryienka in the breakaway, that's a lot of firepower, but there's a ton of great climbers in the breakaway.

I would say it's about even, all things considered. Of course Movistar has the advantage, but everybody expected that anyway, and Sunweb was able to limit the damage by getting Ten Dam in.

And the presence of Kruijswijk & Amador in the break might mean that others will lend a hand to Sunweb in order to protect their top-10s - AG2R, Orica, Trek, Katusha, even Quickstep despite De Plus being in the break...

Ten Dam doesn't limit anything. Nairo needs helpers from the top of Stelvio onwards and he has that, if the gap gets big enough. Herrada will have to do a lot of work now on the false flat to Bormio.

Edit: Not Herrada. It's Anacona apparently.

They are gaining nothing on the peloton. And Major Tom still has 3 teammates.
Pretty sure some teams will start helping the chase in the flat.
