For some reason Remco is better than Ganna at time trialling. Ganna can't produce monster watts like Cancellara used to make back in the old days. And we can add his inability to compete in cobbled classics like roubaix can be justified by his lack of true sheer power.

Came 6th in the only year he properly prepped for it tbf. I think you could also see how much he was struggling on the cobbles that day, just continuously lost ground.

Short TT or prologues(between 7 and 10 km) are very important to analyse who are the best TT because aerodynamic isn't that important compared to sheer power, when they need to break and accelerate constantly. Cancellara was a master because he was insanely powerful.

Ganna is normally really good on those, though, and has had some crazy 20s wins on 10km TTs. He's fairly inconsistent admittedly, but lest we forget he has a sub 4 minute 4km pursuit
