I'm not sure Lobato survives Crosara, it's a demanding climb. If the GC guys come to play you won't find more than 10 riders on top of it.

He looked very good yesterday though, responding to Contador's attack and easily winning the sprint.
It was a couple hundred metres attack and that climb was overall much easier than Crosara anyway. We're talking more than 2km at 13%, there's no way Lobato can survive this if Aru or Contador go for it.

A break will take it again.
Jumbo Steven will be part of it.
No chance for the break tomorrow I think. Too many teams believe they can win, and the parcours is not selective enough to shed many domestiques in the first 3/4 of the race.

I imagine Lampre wouldn't be able to reel in a break in most continental circuit races, so you can count them out as one.

Another bigmac lampre whine post. It's becoming a bit pathetic.

If they go for it, which I doubt.

Agreed, but the favourites won't attack already here. They will likely be a tough pace, but if he is riding really well, he may survive. Not certain of course.

Movistar, Greenedge and BMC will surely try to reel in a break if they're not in it. BMC have Gilbert, but also Caruso who could do well on this parcours. Besides, the peloton is not going to keep on failing to get the break back.

Re: Giro d'Italia 2015: Stage 12: Imola – Vicenza (Monte Ber

Matthews ftw! Maybe Betancur will give it a go too,but after 3 breakaways he might be pretty tired.I don't believe in Gilbert anymore,he didn't show anything this Giro, but who knows maybe will be better today.

I fear wet roads and a headwind might kill any action on this stage.

I doubt there will be much GC change but it would be nice if Aru could find 3 seconds on Contador as I think it would be massive for him to wear Pink (if only for a couple of days... ;) ).

I agree. Just been up it its tough and steep if AC goes they'll be less than 10. At the top there's maybe 1/2km flat then a steep 6/7km descent with tight corners. They 5km flat and at 15km to go a 3km climb before another descent. If AC goes at Crosara I can see him putting time into Aru if someone helps. Porte and Contador should try to punish and split Astana. Oh it's sunny now but rain later! The descent will be crazy.

There's no way in hell matthews will survive this. No way unless peloton doesn't do anything on the previous climbs.

Matthews has been climbing extraordinary this Giro though. Just look how well he was doing on stage 9.

Yea but if astana goes full *** on that climb (3km at 11%) he'll never survive.

And i'm sure astana will, this is their last chance to get the maglia rosa. After the ITT it'll be complicated.

Then again astana has dropped the ball already a couple of times.

They should put the pedal to the metal, question is can Aru deliver?

They are going to have to go very very hard to drop Lobato with the climbing form he is in. Clearly the top chance for me.
I agree there, unless they will go totally berserk on Crosara tho. Also depends if Movistar tries to get Lobato back after he is dropped.

Concerning the make up of the breaks so far; I found this on the Sporza ticker (they got it from the Lotto-Jumbo twitter I think)

The LJ in turn stole it from the great @AigorGaldeano
They didn't even give him credit.
EDIT: oh, they did after a while. My bad
