One thing nobody might think about yet but which could become quite important is that Froome might massively pay for todays effort tomorrow. Even if he gets pink today, this is far from over.

If he has pink

there is 0 chance he pays for it tomorrow.

Four time GT winner knows how to defend a GT lead.

Can we take a moment to imagine how good it must be for Wout Poels, his man is ahead and he can just chill at the back of the third group.

All the talk about Lopez not needing to take a turn, I would still assume that Lopez wants to distance Pozzovivo completely. He could show the decency to take a turn once in a while, if he can somehow strike a deal with Carapaz to do the same thing

Lopez could still win the stage, get on the podium and win the white jersey if he sits tight, waits for everyone to blow up and counter attacks. Hes got very little to gain by working.

Froome had 40-something seconds on the summit of Finestre and now has almost 2'. I wouldn't say the gap is extending too much anymore. He probably just saves himself somewhat to have some reserves on the following climbs

Why are people bitching about Superman? Superman is taking an option to get himself onto the podium while doing next to nothing. Why would he care if Froome or Dumoulin won? Pinot and Carapaz are his rivals.
