The gap is increasing but Carapaz and Lopez are still doing nothing.

If they want to win the stage they will have to start to ride on Sestriere...

How can Froome still gain time? This is insane

Why are people bitching about Superman? Superman is taking an option to get himself onto the podium while doing next to nothing. Why would he care if Froome or Dumoulin won? Pinot and Carapaz are his rivals.
Yep, it's laughable to be moaning about Lopez or Carapaz for not working. They have almost nothing to lose by sitting tight and letting everyone around them tire themselves out. And almost nothing to gain by taking pulls on the flat.

They even lost the wheel sometimes...I am surprised with Reinchemback.

Froome's better managing his effort on shallow gradients than Dumoulin.
He's just a much better climber full stop if he's in top form. Which, out of nowhere, he now seems to be.

Of course, they are not riding against Froomey, but podium and stage win.

I'd get banned if I said what I thought
The group Dumoulin are increasing their advantage to the group Pozzovivo, but the *group* Froome is gaining even more. This is just out there.

Out of nowhere, being so much better all of a sudden, is what bothers me

Froome heading into virtual pink shortly, unbelievable stuff. Whether you like him or not this is spectacular viewing.

You have to wonder if the Tour of South Africa, and coming in undercooked in the first week was all done with this stage in mind.

I suspect the Dumoulin group made a tactical mistake - They needed to drill the last km of the Finestre to drop Carapaz and Lopez who have been no help in the chase and then chase harder in the valley.

To be honest - they should ridde then too. Distance Pozzovivo even more.

Just tuned in. The Giro rarely disappoints, another epic day by the looks of it.

More than epic. This could be one of the legendary performances of modern cycling if Froome pulls it off.
