One Level Crossing cleared, another one to come at 14k to go. Looks like the Motorway diversion didn't happen after all.

Froome looks strong. He'll hold his lead I think. Pinot and TD looks rugged. Lopez and Carapaz probably who's fresh.

I wonder if Dumoulin is wishing he'd have done a bit more to put Froome out of contention when the chances were there, in the first week.
Pointless discussion. Nobody expects Froome to pull a staight up Saunier Duval performance after not dropping anyone outside of super steep climbs since 2015.
Not sure about that. There were quite a lot of posts earlier in the week about how they should be doing more to bury Froome. Him doing a Nibali was always on the cards. Perhaps this is a bit too ridiculous to foresee though.

Funny to see how many posters in here raging over the non-participation of Lopez and Carapaz in the chase group, considering how many demanded non-cooperation when fx Froome was chasing Contador.

This is brilliant bike race, weather your sympathies lies with Froome or another rider.

Not so much when your sympathies lies with Yates and Pozzovivo...

Subjectively yes, objectively no...

It was a brilliant race up until yesterday, today it has turned into a complete farce.

Froome top performances, Ventoux 2013, PSM 2015, now add Finestre/Sestriere 2018. In what order we will know in half an hour or so. If he pulls on pink I reckon it could usurp Ventoux.

This stage will be talked about for decades. Nothing in the race up until now would be. Like it or not, this is the kind of thing cycling needs to stay relevant.

Yeah they perhaps should've done, but Dumoulin very rarely had the chance to do so, but Froome is likely to have a minute on him by the end of today.

Looks like the second one has been eliminated, now on the Motorway.

No doubt in my mind.

Ben O'Connor DNF (heard it from the norwegian commentators on eurosport).
