I'm really torn about this.
Just enjoy it for what it is. Like him or not, Froome has been the main protagonist in by far the two most entertaining stages of this Giro - it's a much more entertaining race for having him here.

Imagine if he wasn't here, Dumoulin would be three minutes ahead and the race would have been over 3km into the Finestre.

There is a point though, that if I am just out for raw excitement, I watch a Jason Bourne movie.

Incredible and awesome are appropriate words, but the fact that I'm not comfortable using the word great and certainly not inspiring, and in fact have a sour feeling, doesn't bring any meaning behind the excitement of the stage

Dumo really lost the race on the descent.
At times he has curious tactics

Not sure what his tactic should have been. Chase on the descent on own and hope to catch Froome? Even if he catches him, he's burned matches and Froome drops him on Sestriere and he is then on his own. The way the race fell, he was stuck with bad group and two workers that couldn't contribute much. But as we saw at the end, he didn't have enough energy on the final climb even with the of help from Finestre.

I supposed he could have driven the chase on the descent and limited losses but he's still stuck with a bad group that wasn't working.

This 2018 Giro is plainly absurd tho.
First off a WTF Yates. Wins everything everywhere and suddenly goes boom. Like yesterday incredible and today incredibly ***.
Second, an impromptu resurrection by Froome. Out of nowhere he pulls the most epic solo ride in DECADES.

I immensely enjoyed today ride, but really WTF is up?
Also. Why in hell is Pozzo called a pure climber? Whenever you get to big epic mountain stages he fails miserably.

Any translation of Calmejane's comments?

2/2 #froomey

Well, if Pozzovivo isn't a pure climber, then what is he? I don't think cracking on Finestre and Rettenbachferner changes that

I just dont understand the Dumoulin fans - first Yates had the race won easily and the question was if it was 4 or 5 minutes. Now its not being able to enjoy such an epic stage cause your favourite didnt win. And on both stages (Sappada and Jafferau), you guys have been expecting Carapaz, Lopez etc. to help Dumoulin out.

I mean, come on. We have witnessed some insane racing, just enjoy it instead of this after every stage that didn't pan out how you wanted

Pinot proves again that he's overrated. Dumoulin got stuck with the wrong group of riders. Two fighting for the White jersey, one who used up a team mate who was already tired and didn't do much work himself. Then Pinot is the first to attack on the final climb. They should have made more time at least on the valley sections.

Basically he is asking from Froome to put the data from today's performance on Strava like he has done in all his winter testing even though he makes clear he is not "judging".

Absolutely - none of them needed to help him. In fact it was in their interest to leave him out front and then try and take him on the climb which they tried, but didnt quite manage.

I don't understand the complaining about help as well. Froome was alone himself and had no help so the fact that Carapaz and Lopez didn't help is no excuse at all.

He doesn't podium because he's not good enough over three weeks. He always has a bad day.

Pinot wasn't ridning against Dumoulin or Froome. Tell me, what would Pinot gain by helping Dumoulin in the chase? He would only tire himself and risk losing third place to Lopez.
