The Giro d'Italia 2025 promises to give emotions also in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, with two stages that will enrich the 108th edition of the historic pink race. However, the long-awaited big departure from Trieste has now faded. Paolo Urbani's latest statements, which took place during the inscription of Enzo Cainero's name in the memorial cemetery of Udine, made it clear that the start of the 2025 Giro will probably take place from Albania or southern Italy.

and apparently no TT? Sounds odd as Ganna's always the reason why they have a TT in the Giro.

Regarding the Col Drusciè, the Giro has actually finished there back in 1977. I also heard some rumors off Le Gruppetto that the final weekend would have a stage in the Aoste Valley, followed by Finestre/ Sestriere, similar to 2015. Then a final TT in Rome starting in the Vatican.
I don't know how true this is, maybe some of you on here ITK could help.

I think the finish was a bit lower then than what it will be next year.

To be fair, the same could be said for Planche des Belles Filles which is also always used in the first half of the race when it has been a road stage. Yet people hate it (probably because it has been used very frequently).
My impression is that people mostly hated the Super version. I don't think its inclusions in 2014 and 2017 were particularly ill-received.
