RCS won't even be able to retaliate after Tudor breaks their deal like that, as they will qualify for an automatic wildcard next year.
Something similar will happen to the Vuelta with Q36.5 and Pidcock.

Pidcock has said his goal is the MTB World Championships. Before the Vuelta even starts, they'll say he's not going, or at most, he'll retire in the first day of rest.

"This kind of behaviour is disgusting and disrespectful to these great and historic races, and you would never have seen anybody dare to behave like this in my time", said a prominent ex-cyclist disappointed to see such withdrawals.

A few good things, stage 8 has an 800m at 12% murito topping with 6kms to go and the overall stage ain't easy. The Vicenza stage is also decent.
The stage with San Pellegrino in Alpe mid stage could be harder than expected because it comes right after the ITT.
IMO the big problems are stage 14 and stage 15 being so bad and the meh Aosta stage. The Grappa stage having the intermediate stage in Possagno, where the hardest side of Bocca di Forca starts, is just taking the piss, at that point they are trolling the hardcore fans.
RCS giving the Bormio stage over the Midtirolo only 3 out of 5 starts tells you it is easy, but it could at least result in more gc action the previous day, someone could attack from further out.

I'm starting to hope bad weather makes the north side of the Finestre unridable so they instead go for a Finestre mtf from the south side. That way we could get a "Grappa stage", a "Mortirolo stage" and a "Finestre stage" all in one Giro without any of them being remotely interesting. Don't think we'll ever come this close to achieving the trinity of fake mythical stages again.

Why would they do a Finestre MTF though, they‘d just do loops around Sestriere.

Hirschi has been taken off the start list by Tudor due to bad shape. So it's rather a penalty for him than an offense for the Giro d'Italia!
Tudor's team looks pretty good if you ask me: Storer might be one of the top climbers in the race, Pluimers and Zijlaard for the sprints, Brenner for a stage win from the break.
Plus, Hirschi hasn't ridden a GT in almost three years and his last two (Tdf 21 and TdF 22) were dreadful.

Let's make predictions. Let's see if we get any right.

Roglic will win the Giro.

Ayuso will be second but not as good as expected.

Landa third.

The Yates brothers will be disappointing.

Carapaz won't even be top 5.

Best domestiques: Pellizzari and Del Toro.

Pedersen Ciclamino.

Van Aert will have a good Giro like the 2024 Vuelta.

Mad Mads vs Wout Van Aert II battle for Ciclamino will be fun to watch, I hope.

Magnier has already said he's unlikely to finish the race, Pluimers has Zijlaard ahead of him for the flat sprints. Obviously it's marginal in the second half of the poll but I would have Kanter (you can bet Astana will try to get UCI points for the points classification) and Strong in there.
