So if he finishes in the top-5, you will say that you were wrong?

If he finishes 5th because Landa, Ciccone, Adam Yates, Bernal, Tiberi, Poole and one other all fall behind him because of injuries, it really doesn't prove that he was a podium contender.

And if he magically has a much higher level next week, good for you, but there have been no real world signs for that to happen. And it's not the first rider you have overestimated wildly (Kelderman) without much apparent reason.

I think you are simply unable to read what I write. I can't recall any serious overestimation of KelderGOAT.

Is the camerawork always that bad at the giro.

No good pictures from the crash. Then it takes 10 minutes until you get pictures from the roglic/Ayuso group.
And then the cameramotorcycle is also pacing in front of the vismariders.

I belive it was stage 11 where we had no pictures from the peleton up to half the mountain (Pellegrino), although there was much action with half of the peleton was already droped.

This is realy bad for such a race.

Brother what

Okay, that might have been list padding, but he was in front of Gee before the Siena stage and did beat him in the stage 10 TT (and is much younger, has been injury plagued this season and has a higher ceiling than Gee).

What is his best climbing performance to date on a HC climb?

Better for the race that some riders lose more time to incentivize attacks tomorrow for example, but obviously bad that Ciccone is totally out. Del Toro once again where he needs to be, he's psyshically the strongest right now and always present in splits even with a shaky team on a team like this. Thats the recipe for a GT winner.

Probably these ones but he had a lot of problems with injury the last two seasons so they are probably not reflecting his true ceiling (he was also only 20 at the time):

And if you're really engaging in a discussion whether Poole or Gee is the better prospect in a Grand Tour, it should tell you that hyping Gee for the podium is a bit of a nonsense.

If we go by imagined ceiling, then I think my imagination of Gee's ceiling is higher than your imagination of Poole's ceiling.

Just got to watch the race. Wanted to go to the last few km's for the sprint. What a mess. Hope Ciccone is somewhat okay. Del Toro fast to get back in the group. He got his 2' advantage again, but it's still waiting how he goes in the last week.

Kasper what a win again. Monster.

Does anyone understand why Polti has pulled Roglic's group?

I can't find any other explanation

Yes. I understand it was because of Piganzoli. You never know where you'll find an ally
It's still a little sad that there's so much pressure to finish in the top 20.

Before we reach the (real) mountains, both they and we won't know what he'll be capable of, so giving up the day before they appear would be stupid.

After that shitshow of a stage I really didn't expect to login the forum for there to be a massive debate about Derek Gee of all people

I live in his old apartment bedroom in Girona btw - he left a sticker on one of the dressers when he moved out. Would love to support the guy but can't because of the team he rides for... (yes, I am both a Pogi/ Del Toro fan and a hypocrite but I have my reasons)

Watching the replay. Del Toro, Carapaz, and Pidcock were also involved in the accident. But they reacted quickly. They didn´t wait for their domestiques.

It's not all bad luck.

Some riders managed to overcome the moment better than others.
