I did not see the 2004 Giro. I have some memories of the 2009 one, and mainly the TTs but I always assumed Petrano was on sunday, and apparently I was wrong
2004 sucked donkey ***. 2009 was forgettable to the point that I don’t remember it.

Oh wait… 2009 was the one Armstrong rode with Leipheimer. Yeah that sucked.

It's a shame we have the internet. In the old days Rubio would have been able to hide behind Formolo for a long time before the mean peleton had realised he was there.

Oh boy thanks for reminding me Robbie, sure can't wait to watch "Mathieu van der Poel" make his big MTB comeback on the special new bike his team have made for him.

So it was doomed to happen that cycling changed as the media landscape did into shorter attention span and shock effects over quality. Also they started air the whole stages so viewers wanted more drama. When I watched cycling 2007 it was still an attrition test.

Nowadays the attrition is in positioning instead it would seem. A very different kind of attrition. It is not the same kind of sport.

Oh, also todays cycling will favour youth while yesterday would favour older cyclists.

It's a freaking beautiful road though
