I mean, you're not wrong, but when you don't have a dog in the fight (and a DS screaming in your ear) you're able to actually call a spade a spade.Like Visma did the last 5 years.![]()

Yep, and also trying save energy where putting in the effort would make rest of the race/stage safer and easier. Like soft pedalling the climb in the Itzulia stage, going into tricky descent with abnormally big group and then starting to push the envelope on it. In todays case this part is not that relevant though. This unessacary obsession of having to be at the front. Like the crashes in Pays Basque and DDV last year.
The problem is they are not really racing. In such stages the GC riders (the ones actually capable of going fast over hilly terrain) have no prospects of gaining time. It is about not getting crashed by others. And that creates nervousness. And that causes crashes. If there is a bit of uphill there is usually no need to be stressed out.No..... Road racing is about racing... on roads... that sometimes are flat... and wet.
So Taco van der Hoorn gains 50 seconds? GC comeback starting now for him.
Because modern cycling + DS screaming into their ear piece and then the race organizers get the blame for not signalling every turn perfectly or 1-2 potholes being there. Cyclists are like little children, you can't expect them to make the right calls...Why are they racing like idiots and fighting hard for position on a wet downhill with 70km left on a sprint stage?
They also go pee pee wherever they canBecause modern cycling + DS screaming into their ear piece and then the race organizers get the blame for not signalling every turn perfectly or 1-2 potholes being there. Cyclists are like little children, you can't expect them to make the right calls...
the lesson for children is about kindness and understanding toward everyone even if it's a completely blackcoloured from being close to steam locomotive engine smoke all day crocodile/wolf cross over with big teeth creature that need compassionOne buddy encourages kids to talk to reptilian railway enthusiasts, and then the forum suddenly crashes and a group of adolescents gets detained by Copenhagen Police due to allegedly being involved in organised crime. Coincidence? Probably.
Fortunato really wants those KOM points.

Well, in my opinion there is a show only when there is a GC battle. I do not care for the "sprint" stages. Also, "sprint" stages go hand in hand with massive crashes. So I am hoping somebody reads this and starts organizing races that maximize the show and minimize the risk.Yeah, and? Not all stages in a GT - or any stage race - is about GC riders gaining time.
There's no mountains to cancel mate.Big crash at the Giro, so how long until Adam Hansen wakes up from hibernation to gets his yearly 5min of fame?
There was plenty uphill in the first part of the stage. The problem is they are not really racing. There were no mountains in the Morbegno farce back in 2020There's no mountains to cancel mate.
