Evans was riding like he wanted the win.

I don't buy the BMC doesn't want the jersey so early crap...it can easily be given away Sunday to a the right rider on the right team and let them do the work defending it.

of course he wanted it. doesn't mean it;s the best strategy

Commentators always root for their countrymen. I was listening to the Gazzetta guys egging on Pinotti not too long ago.

you are right, sometime I like my commentators fair and inpartial but it doesn't really ever happen, did very much enjoy his joy in Vino not winning though.

Awesome prologue for Sky. Win for Wiggins, and Henderson best placed of the sprinters five seconds back. If everything goes perfectly Wiggins might lose the jersey to him tomorrow!

Nice ride for Vino. I don't think he will figure in the overall, but maybe he can get the maglia rosa after the TTT.

Sastre reminds me of the Dark Helmet with his TT helmet.

The Universal Sports announcers don't really have any Americans to cheer for here, so they are just tipping every English speaking rider as a huge favorite. Meanwhile, they dismiss everyone else like Basso who was described as in the twilight of his career as he is just too old and lacks the explosiveness he had before. I found this amusing because he is actually younger than Cadel - and if Lance was riding age definitely wouldn't matter.

Then I guess you weren't listening to the same announcers last year during the Giro.

Porte is 9 seconds behind at check1, so he is never going to make it
