Astana are driving the peloton, which has split into two groups under the pressure of the Kazakhstani team. That's not an encouraging sign for the chasers as they'll need plenty of help if they want to make inroads into the gap.

Gazzetta shows 30 second gap between Maglia Rosa group and dropped riders.

break is losing it's impetus. going on sherwen's law, what should be the end gap?

It's Chapatte's Law, Sherwen just happens to use it a lot. Anyway it really doesn't apply to breaks of this size (it's actually meant for solo riders), there's way to many variables to make such a simple prediction and expect it to be even slightly accurate.

you reckon?:eek: hope so...

Not a chance. Sherwen's Law assumes

1. A relatively small break, tired from the days' work;
2. A powerful team or teams in an organised chase not as tired as the break;
3. Flat parcours.

We don't have any of those.

Oh bloody hell. :rolleyes: Who and how?

Barry, middle of the road, feed station. He's fine, he'll make it back to the front without too much trouble, they're all eating.

I was scanning the list of gaps for the guys in the break, thankyou for posting them, nobody up there seems like a real threat.

Normally I would have said don't let Sastre back in but he's really given up the ghost in this race. I know he usually saves his best for the end of a GT, and he could still make everyone look like fools today. Maybe letting him back in will give him Rose Fever
