The names are on that ticker. Wiggins has about 4 teammates on quick glance.

Goss is there, so there's your stage winner!

Do you think Goss can make it up the kicker at the end? There are sections above 10%.

would of tipped evans or scarponi if it wasn't for this stupid breakaway... It is his type of finish

From the little I've heard about him, he's a decent climber for a sprinter. The "for a sprinter" bit is probably the most relevant though, so he'll probably get shelled.

Wow. Both Cervelo and Sky have pretty much all their best riders in this "breakaway". Great stuff!

My guess for the stage, and perhaps even the overall, is Tondo if he really is in this group.

15'45" now. Still going out despite Astana etc's best efforts...

:eek::(

I am scared!!!! Evans may have to ride away solo. All the teams, Lgas, astana, bmc and aqua sapone need to get up there and start chasing! hthis is stupid, how could it go out so far? how could teams let such a big group go up ahead?

Sky and Cervelo are well placed to drive this break all the way to the finish line.

Gap is 15'45" after 109km.

It seems to be raining on the Gruppo Maglia Rosa, whereas the break is in dry sunshine.

I'm guessing Astana's original plan was to let a big breakaway get away and perhaps let someone borrow the pink jersey, but they were probably sleeping and didn't quite notice how many and how strong riders who were actually going away. Then when the gap first was created, the damage was already done, and it is obviously impossible to bring back considering how strong the group is.

Pfft, BMC will put a couple of guys in the front and pull back the first group easily :p

On a more serious note: WTF happened? Accident? Did Evans and Vino fall asleep? Did they only look at the (few) top GC riders around them, and not notice that half of the peloton took off?

A 142km ITT? He needs to stick with his team and the other strong teams. Luckily lgas, astana and aqua sapone have all there guys in the "main field".

Wrong. Liquigas has 4 riders in the breakway...Agnoli/Dall'Antonia/Kiserlovski/Vanotti
