So, if Agnoli is in the break, I guess Liguigas won't be doing too much work. BMC doesn't have a team. That leaves all the work to Astana. No chance!

Damn, I can't remember the password to my betfair account. Oh well. Odds on Sastre have already shortened though, he has shot up to second favourite behind Cadel and ahead of Vino.

Gap is up to 14'47" according to twitter.

Too early to make such conclusions. Liquigas and Astana will surely reduce the gap. It is still more than 150 km to go.

And I am not even sure that Sastre, given his current form and bad luck (crashes, etc.), can make it all the way to finish with the breakaway.

Er, no way Sastre's getting dropped out of the break that can hand him a Giro. Pretty difficult to catch 50 guys on a hilly pacours, riding like they stole it.

Should Liquigas really let this go just because Agnoli is up there? OK, he has five minutes on Sastre and six on Wiggins, but he could easily lose twice that in the big climbs over the final week.

It looks like Kiserlovski is there as well. Nibali and Basso could carry one each on their shoulders over the big climbs :D

So if this stays away and gains lots of time it will be BMC and Astana that are the big big losers.

Knowing Agnoli's talents, I'd let this go if I were Liquigas. At the very worst, he can likely get on the final podium + white jersey. He's a very good climber.

On Evans' behalf, I'm f*****g raging that having worked my a*s off for the first week in the classics, my advantage is neutralised in one go. Same for Vino.

Does anyone have a warm milky drink to calm ACF?

COVERAGE STARTING ON RAI!

They are never going to catch this. Lots of great riders in the break, and every team with a GC rider seems to have a rider in it, except for Astana and BMC. Don't know about HTC, but Pinotti isn't a real threat on the GC anyway.

Neutralized? They'll be lucky if they're not several minutes behind by the end of today.

Coverage on Rai Sport has started (I put a link in an earlier post).

Right now they are INTERVIEWING PODIUM GIRLS. Normally I would be ecstatic about this, but I'd kind of like to see the race.

Kiserlovski showed himself as a good climber as well, at least at the Terminillo, at least if the poster was correct and he is in there as well.

BTW, Is Mollema there?

Arroyo is also very dangerous for the GC now. he never looses a lot of time in the mountains and he has a good team with him.. Giro has started on Rai btw. but no live pictures yet.

Woah there, I think we need to put the breaks on the Richie Porte hype train for just a minute. This is his first Grand Tour, is it not? I would expect him to suffer badly in the third week, and we all know that Carlos Sastre will be getting stronger every day at that point.

Live coverage on Rai Sport is currently showing a fruit salad. I wish I was joking.

It's not likely, but not impossible either. Just trying to emphasize how crazy this situation is.
