dont start moondance!

Hey... At least Brent Bookwalter will have a good teammate to help him up the mountains.

Either way. Aussie should still be happy. Porte will now be in a great position to have a spectacular first GT.

Anybody reminded of another young Aussie who took the maglia rosa for a spell in his first Giro?

If the Gap gets dropped to under 8-10mins the race isn't over, otherwise it is really Porte's to lose he will have 8mins+ on all the people we thought could win this race and 6 on Sastre.

Porte wont win. He'll have to defend about 4-5 mins on Tondo.... Which I think will be too difficult for him, a bit more to Sastre. But I think a Top 5 is defintely in the books now for the kid.

Either way the biggest losers are once again the Italians. No Nibali, Basso, Cunego, Garzelli or Scarponi

Yeah. He did not win anything of significance for more than seven years afterward. Maybe Porte will do better.

FFS. Impressive organisation.

The break's advantage down quite a bit. Video was saying about 8' on screen, the Radiocorsa ticker says 6'30".

[edit] Back up to 11' must have been tha climb.

I think if this is a 6-8 minute advantage it really sets up the giro Sastre 2 off vino with his strong final week, basso nibali evans and vino will still be in contention no need to worry! Arroyo and Tondo could be wild cards
but lets stay positive unless the peloton really suffer in at anything more than 12 down it will really set the giro up beautifully by bringing the pack back together in terms of GC

Nah, there's something wrong with your link. When you refresh it always goes back to 6'30", but then works its way through the updates to the latest time. It's showing 16'55" for me at the moment.
