Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but:
Wouter Weylandt (QST, winner stage 3) really was ill when he quit the Giro. In fact, he was so ill he was admitted to the ER on Friday night with severe dehydration. He'd already lost 5 kilograms by that point. QST's doctor thinks the worst will be over after this weekend. I hope so!

That's news, I think. I wonder if he was dehydrated by the racing, or by illness.

And Liquigas start pushing the pace.

On the first of the 4 climbs, no less. This is going to be interesting.
Peleton suddenly quite strung out.

I think illness. He came back from the Giro with gastrointestinal something, and it only got worse in Belgium, to the point where an ER visit was necessary.

The aerial footage just showed a Rabobank rider. I'm embarrassed to confess that I'd forgotten they were even in the Giro. They've been pretty anonymous.

Haha, I read about Rabo yesterday and it was like - "No way they're in the Giro!!" And then I checked it and was like "WTF?!" So either am I not paying enough attention to the Giro (trying to watch some everyday) or thy have been VERY anonymous, take your pick!

They've been around, Brown got a second place in the first week, and I think Mollema is in the mix for the young rider's jersey?

Hi all. I'm new to the forum. Don't worry I'm not an Armstrong fan boy. Refer to my use of punctuation as evidence.

I'm thinking Nibali has to be favourite again today. He was so strong yesterday. That hurts to say being Australian and supporting Evans.

How much time does everyone think Arroyo will lose? If any?

I'm thinking 1 1/2 minutes. He seems like the sensible sort who won't panic and will be happy to ride at his own pace if he has to.

To be fair, they did have their captain, Freire, pull out at the very last minute. The upside is that the younger guys and the domestiques should have their chances.
