Why are we talking about gesink and menchov? I blame the dutch as there patriotism always takes over! Rabo this, rabo that, mollema this, mollema that, gesink this gesink that. The dutch are quick to kick good ole Denis Menchov off.

19 will be a stage for gc as a break won't be able to hold off the favs over the mortirolo and aprica.

(Note to self: Keep baiting timmy and dutch friends)

yes but works in liquigas, caisse's advantage to let teh break go away. It would be a GC stage if they wanted to tear it up, I'm not sure Liqui will want too. BMC will have no hope of chasing... who then will?

However maybe Liquigas will continue to ride a hard pace, time shall tell.

btw your baiting would be good, if it was actually intelligent. It just makes you look like an immature tool .

True it's offtopic. Anyways were just happy that we've finnaly got some climbing talent again :)

Maybe it's because your comments are enticing in that regard. You want them to take the bait and then you complain about their comments. Try a different approach and I'm certain you won't have to get your panties in a twist about all of the Rabo talk ;)

Here Here...between this and your "dreams" of Cadel, immature tool just about covers it.

Well, did some calculations, and I have to grant you that, Timmy:

Rider Porte Mollema Kiserlovski Cataldo
Stage 7 01:42 03:52 03:08 04:15
Stage 8 01:22 00:56 01:16 02:38
Stage 14 04:46 02:25 04:46 04:46
Stage 15 05:46 04:04 09:28 04:24
Stage 16 02:17 02:57 03:00 01:41
Deficit to leaders 15:53 14:14 21:38 17:44

This is only based on the five climbing stages excluding L'Aquila, and here Mollema is indeed best - I feel, though, that Cataldo will beat Mollema over the next two hard climbing stages, but let's see:)

It was the worst one Ive ever seen in a grand tour thread.

I personally didn't find the photo offensive, and I didn't think the poster meant any harm with it. Just a joke gone wrong I guess.

I've been apart of some forums in the past where the behavior in contrast to this, is out of control. But best to conform to the environment of the forum, and not post that kinda stuff.

But again, I don't think he meant any harm, just making a joke.

Ermanno Capelli, not to be confused with his brother Hermano, was the only one to be given the boot for finishing outside of the time limit today. He rides for Footon Servetto.

Gazzetta has updated their Classifiche Generali. The top twenty looks like so:

1 ARROYO DURAN David ESP GCE -0:00
2 BASSO Ivan ITA LIQ +2:27
3 PORTE Richie AUS SAX +2:36
4 EVANS Cadel AUS BMC +3:09
5 SASTRE CANDIL Carlos ESP CTT +4:36
6 NIBALI Vincenzo ITA LIQ +4:53
7 VINOKOUROV Alexandre KAZ AST +5:12
8 SCARPONI Michele ITA AND +5:25
9 KISERLOVSKI Robert CRO LIQ +8:57
10 CUNEGO Damiano ITA LAM +9:13
11 PINOTTI Marco ITA THR +10:20
12 GERDEMANN Linus GER MRM +10:55
13 CATALDO Dario ITA QST +14:10
14 KARPETS Vladimir RUS KAT +14:34

Possible Androni and/or Lampre. Tomorrow stage looks like could be a few climbers finishing at the finish together which would appeal to Cunego for a stage win. Scarponi maybe interested because he is within 35 seconds of Vino and Nibali in the overall Classifications and pick up bonus seconds.

OBviously like BMC, Vino's team doesn't have enough firepower to help. Just the way this Giro has gone though, anything is possible.

I think Liqui will do something in the upcoming mountain stages, mainly to ensure that Basso gets a bigger lead oer Evans and to take the pink from Arroyo. They are in a fantastic position to do this, firstly kick up the tempo with the entire team, make sure the leaders are isolated, let Nibali attack again and again to wear the favorites out and after that let Basso attack. Even if the other favorites do not chase after Nibali, this would still be good for the Liquigas team, as it might mean Nibali gets a big enough gap to get the pink jersey. So whatever they do they tire the others and I believe Liquigas as a whole is in the best position to win this giro

As many posters accurately predicted, climbing was more important than TT'ing this year, with many of the TT specialists--Larsson, Wiggins, Konovolovas--between 4 1/2 and 5 minutes back. Vino and Pinotti respectable but overtaken by many others.

Some of those guys did better the last time; might it be timing and placement between stages, or the effect of the rest day?

Honestly guys, in the grand scheme of internet medical horror images that picture was pretty tame.

it was disgustingly inappropriate (and quite funny:D, in context).

deleting it was the right thing to do--thanks alpe. "tame" or not, it doesn't belong here. if you want to seek that stuff out just type the bold into google.(actually just did that for fun and your post is the first result.)

good ride by garzelli today! the tifosi must be going nuts.

lovin' this giro!

Who's playing? Still Roddick and Nieminen?

Don't know, prettyboys in bermudas and polo shirts - they took forever! Evans was already on the route when finally we got to see the race.

I was a bit disappointed in Sastre. Richie Porte however, he is holding his own between seasoned pros. Impressive!

Also impressed with Giro organizers. They have got people assigned to catching riders when they cross the finish, they have mechanics on motos with wheels and extra bikes. And the golden crown with a hen on it! Beautiful!
