It's the dutch way. They are a sensitive bunch.

maybe that might be the case but evans will eat up all the supposable time lost in a tt and more![/QUOTE][/B][/B]

Your way to confident , wasn't everyone expecting the same thing in the final Time Trials of the 07-08 Tours, but he didnt come up with the goods.

I think the best thing to do is keep our mouths shut and cross our fingers

5th Italian stage in a row btw..

Also, can anyone bring meaning to all of these classifications I found for this Giro?

Trofeo Super Team (in addition to the normal Team accumulated time ranking)
Traguardo Volante
Azzurri d'Italia
Trofeo Fuga Cervelo
Fair Play

I don't think Evans would want to risk it given he should have done similar things twice in the TDF.

Evans should attack in the final few km's and try to gain 20-30 seconds in one of the 2 mountain stages, if he does that he seals a giro win for himself.

I don't he wants to risk it either, but if it comes down to the final TT, I think he can make up 45 seconds.

for evans everything is fantastic with arroyo having the magila rosa. evans don't have to defeat his jearsey without a team, he just have to take it on the last mountain stage or in the last tt. so he can't get cooked without domestiques like popovych in 2004!!!

It won't happen dude. Since when has Gesink been the head Rabo rider in a GT before Menchov and in no less than Dennis target GT for the year? Not going to happen this year. Gesink is Menchov's mule in the mountains. Gesink has to be ahead of Menchov to be ahead of Evans and that is not going to happen this year.

Don't count on it.
Earlier this year the rabo management were making claims like menchov isn't even guaranteed a spot on the tour, while gesink was. Being a dutch team, I expect gesink to be riding for himself.

I can admit it, but the dutch are just as bad and take the bait every single time!:D

Someone needs some sleep...

Me or you? Seriously...when has it happened? I'll believe it when I see it and no sooner. Stuff of fantasy until it happens. Like saying Vino will be the Astana no.1 at the Tour. Absolute nonsense until the inevitable becomes reality.

haha win :D

Anywhu, who cares who mollema lost to, this race is great for his progress. And he has proven (so far) to be the strongest youngster in the mountains. A successful giro so far. No excuses needed.

No need to tighten the hype screw on Mollema, Timmy. He has only been the best youngster in one mountain stage to be realistic. Granted, he is more than decent, but so is Martin, Cataldo, Kiserlovski, Porte etc....

I hope someone reported that pic. It was completely inappropriate. I don't want to go back the page to do it.

I scrolled down juuuuuuuuust far enough to see the 'report' button.

In Mollema's defense, he'd be ahead of all of those guys if he had been with them in the attack on the L'Aquila stage. So in terms of pure climbing he's ahead of those three.

If the management say so. Haven't heard that. Dennis made big announcements at the beginning of the year. First I've heard otherwise and this is only second hand info. Horses mouth is better. Seeing it trumps hearing proclamations. I'll believe it when I see it. Thought maybe next season, not this year. Dennis is still young-ish. He's 31. Still good to go and is a proven thing.

Actually every single stage he has proved the strongest, other then martin on stage 15, and it is a little easier being stronger when you have ridden easy for the majority of the race. Get your facts right.

And I'm not claiming he is anything out of this world, just that this giro has been great for his progress. I only expected a top 20 from the beginning. Try not to misread posts ;)
