Sastre really has the hammer down.

He really wants at least the stage win and probably a place on the podium

Group Maglia Rosa is absolutely decimated already

Much respect to Basso for just rocking the maglia rosa and not getting completely kitted out in pink.

EDIT: I wonder how hard Liquigas needs to chase here. I wouldn't want to use up the team to pull this group back just yet. It's only a 1'06", I'd let off the gas a bit.

Arroyo's still riding the Barbie Pinarello. An act of defiance, or maybe he feels he'll get it back?

Luck, maybe? He's raced damn well on that bike.

Hmmm, pink and that lime green colour don't go too well together IMO.

Personally, I don't like it.

They didn't expect to get the pink yesterday, see Nibali who was completely in pink for several days, jsut as Agnoli was completely in white for several days

Generally I am in favour of keeping your team shorts on and not going overboard with colour co-ordination (helmet OK, glasses sure, shoes probably not), but I don't think the candy pink/acid green thing really works for Liquigas.

Also, if this gets brought back on the Gavia then Cadel should immediately attack like his rainbow jersey depends on it.

Not likely. He said yesterday something is affecting him, but that he won't talk about it until after the Giro.

What the eff? That's a strange ****ing thing to say.

Man, I like the guy, but I cannot deny he is annoying sometimes.

He said the same thing at the Tour last year. Then at the end he just said "yeah we know why I wasn't quite there and we'll fix it next time"

This stage reminds me more of a Tour high mountain stage..........

If Alpe d'Huez was over double the length and topped out up high where there's little oxygen and people get dropped easier
