Ah, the rest of Eurosport has caught up. Only missed 10kms waiting to get that pointless intro out of the way.

At what point does a single rider become a threat to win a stage? I know sometimes a rule of 1 minutes per 10k is used on reasonably flat courses with a small escape group (6 guys).

Would it be reasonable to think that if he still at 6 minutes at 30k that he would have a shot?

I would say "no" considering how difficult the finish apparently is and that the GC guys possibly have ambitions today, but we'll see, maybe I'm totally wrong and Kohler surprises me.

No chance.

If Kohler wins the stage today then ACF can choose an avatar for me for the next 5 years.

Given up with ES. Another break, 3rd in 15 minutes.
Kohler is giving it some. Unless he cracks, they may not see him again until he steps onto the podium.

are you serial?

I've seen single riders lose 1 minute per km in though finals like this one
Even Cancellara lost 1 minute on the Vesten from de Muur to a guy like Langeveld. And that's Cancellara....

Kohler is never going to hold unless he is some sort of superman or the peloton goes 30km/h

I think he has a chance today, normally no. The peloton just seems out of sorts.

If its anything like how ITV handled F1 then they use up all the ad breaks when nothing is happening so you can get uninterrupted coverage at the finish.

He's got no chance. No point the peloton waking up now to do a full on chase. He will be caught.

The reason Kohler has done better than expected is a good tailwind I think. Can't see him hanging on though

Despite what happened the last 2 days, I can't help but to find myself pretty excited for this :) Hills & dust, here we come!

Hope Nibali/Scarponi can put some time into Contador here to make things a bit more exciting the next few days..

Given his struggles on the climb right now, I would say he doesn't have much of a chance of staying away.
