Draw whatever conclusions you want about Contador leaving a gap, it means nothing, that was a sprint, not a climb. Wait til Etna.

We know that, but it's still remarkable when Contador leaves a gap somewhere.

Weening did better than I expected.. I said 20th/35th. He finished 19th :p

Bye Bye Duarte
I was just looking for him on the top 50, where did he come in?

I see Kennaugh got shelled at some point, that's a shame. I knew he'd lose big time in the proper mountains but I thought he might be able to manage this low gradient.

Sorry racing today. I have no idea why the peloton let that slip away. They ought to be embarassed. So far the Giro isn't doing it for me. If they aren't going to go for it until next week, I'm not sure if I can stay interested.

I agree, it looked like he was just missing explosiveness a little or maybe he lost concentration, but by the time he rolled over the line he just as quick as the guys in front of him again and if the climb had gone on a little longer I have no doubt he would have closed the gap.

Gazzetta site has Top-80 up so far.. Duarte is not among them. Means he has a minimum of 8 min loss for today.

KENNAUGH Peter arrived before Duarte!

I see Duarte is not interested in nothing but to assist his leaders.:(
