Really happy for Kristoff, hopefully he will regain some confidence now, and perhaps even BMC will be willing to do leadouts for him later. It's what I've said all the time, once in a good position Kristoff is one of the fastest sprinters out there, he just sucks really hard at positioning.

TOAK was pretty close to Ale Jet, so he almost WON!!! (If you discount the great efforts by Gatto and Contador).

Kristoff will definitely be up there again tomorrow, now he regained his confidence.

On a more serious note, our hyped Norwegian actually did rather great today, didn't think he'd have it in him.

I think he was, yes ;)

Go to the clinic :p

Or the Portugese cycling scene:eek:

You're making the assumption that Basso was doping, I just made a link between the two races. It's you that should go to the Clinic.

Or Portugal. Though Portugal's a lot better than it was. Portuguese riders are actually winning things now, rather than being crushed by the all-conquering Team Puerto Exile.

Gilbert sooo would have crushed this

I wonder why there aren't more puncheurs that do like the sprinters and do multiple GTs but drop out somewhere in the middle.

Of course Gilbert and the like need a vacation, so can understand, but some should try at least :p

his left knee was swelling horribly & literally killing him after that nasty crash- can't blame him for that

Heh, I complained for years why Boogerd wouldn't try the Giro or Vuelta more, to ride for a GC. He did rode them eventually, but not seriously like the Tour.
Could've done so much more there than in the TDF. Not his type of mountains anyway

He's wearing race number 181, riding for Bjarne Riis. Time to go extraterrestrial and roll the years back to 2006.

Just Hope that He doesnt get "The Alien" as a nickname! ;)

Yep... Tendonitis in his right knee... He was taking it like a man but today was over the limit... I hope that He can be healthy soon and take some wins in La Vuelta!
But He rode a good Giro even if it was short... and He gained the respect from a lot of ppl here in the forum... :)

Another thing to keep in mind:
When Contador jumped, he had no way of knowing just how much time he would gain. Had it been another 10 or 15 seconds, it would look all the more like a brilliant move.

Clever riding. I can't wait to see what's next.

WOW didnt watch the race but looked like an exciting one with contador getting away. Great move by him but i think he shouldnt have wasted the energy with etna coming tmr. But sad thing he lost the sprint, it was kinda like mende. wow great ride by TGAK, finally showing us that he can do something. I kinda lost hope in him until now. wondered what would have happen if there was a sprint for the win. BMC proving everyone wrong about the weakest team in giro, eventhough i still believe they are

Kristoff to HTC instead of Cav next season??? Then this "excuse" could finally be left out. I've seen the statement made by ACF a lot of times, but I'm still not sold on the excuse being plausible. Even a blind chicken finds a kenel of corn now and then...

"Hate this stage. The sprinters survived that little speed bump as expected, and Cavendish won his first stage in this Giro."

Was a nice move by Contador, can't wait for tomorrow!
