I kinda like the whole mega-doped A-teams though, They were missing in 2010 and 2011. Pity Dani Moreno isn't holding up his end of the bargain.

It is as I feared. I thought there were some promising signs in 2010 and 2011 that cycling was going in the right direction. After the complete domination of Sky in 2012 I was afraid the other teams would ratchet it up to the same level. We saw the first signs with Astana and Nibali in the Giro, but now it's undeniable.

Any hope of cycling getting cleaner are gone. We're back to the early 00's. They might as well lift Ricco's ban, he would fit right in with this freak show.

And here I thought Kreuziger would never be a GC podium candidate. Looking better than ever...

Who knew that the only thing he needed to do was stop working with Ferrari.

True. I was saying just last week it's time to end Ricco's ban for the sake of someone who looks good on a bike winning. Return The Cobra. We should make it a movement! Or perhaps Riis can buy back both the Schlecks and stick them with Contador. That would be EPIC!

I use to think he was better than Nibali. Actually he was. Then lost it. Now he's back. This is all quite odd. Kreuziger had junior pedigree. Can't say the same for anyone on Sky other than EBH.

The old 2nd rest day tactics working out by the looks of it. Can they close the gap to froome? I am anxiously awaiting the next few stages.

Rogers in 11th place on GC.

Will probably crumple on stages with more than 2 climbs.

Is Rogers still getting access to the same fuel as last year? Or has he a different supplier?

We're still seeing teams going up or down in pairs. Contador/Kreuziger vs Ten Dam/Mollema, and Valverde/Quintana (and Froome/Porte, obviously, if Porte hadn't been sacrificed).

That will depend if they can target Froome's achilles heal... His mental muppetude.

Saxo is still less dirty than Froome. I imagine Froome is as dirty as all of saxo combined. When was the last time he had a shower?

Froome just smells of Aicar or some other "hi-tech" medication...

They say every dawg has his day, this one seems to have his years.

However, there is no guarantee that the amount of juice filled in the Dawg is any larger than what's pumped into Rogers, i.e. ;)

Oh dear Berty

The old 2nd rest day "preparation" that Riis (and Fuentes) are masters of didn't help. No wonder Berty looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp ... you just have to hope now the plasticiser doesn't turn up in your urine sample.

But this post isn't about Sky - its about Contador who, should we forget, said the other day that Froome is too strong and there is no reason to doubt his performances.

He's been bested in all the mountain stages and TTs by Froome so why does Berty now look so glum - was he expecting a 'boost' that hasn't worked?

He was looking glum because he lose a 11 second lead on Froome on a descent by not using a time trial bike.

Oh yes! It looks like the Spanish armada used their rest day very profitably. Probably all sat down to a nice steak dinner together.

Contador's improvement-rate is amazing, if only the TdF were three weeks longer, then his rest-day steak-dinners would give him the win!

(Too bad that steak itself is worthless for endurance athletes, perhaps he needs clen-(plus-plasticizer-)pasta, instead of clen-beef?)

where exactly has he improved? if you are judging based on froome, that is non-sense, as he was obviously going just fast enough based on the time checks to keep it close. based on the 20 guys behind contador he hasn't improved at all.

Contador gained 2 mins on Mollema and Ten Dam, and useful time on most of the others. But do you think that Froome could have set a time 2 minutes faster? (Like in the first ITT.)

P.S. I don't think that Contador is doping, but he really does seem to be closing the gap to Froome.
