How much does JRod lose to Wiggins in the Vuelta TT

Wiggins obviously isn't winning the GC, but by how much will he beat JRod on that 1 day, now it's been extended to 47km?

2 1/2-3m seems about right. Mostly straight, only a handful of turns. Time will go quickly. Wigans will club the Spanish climbers like baby seals in Salamanca, although he'll return all the time he gains there back to Purito and Anton on the Angliru with interest.

Let's see... his last long flat TT was in the Giro, 37 km. He lost 2'14" to David Millar in that (and less than a minute to Nibali, BTW). So if I extrapolate from there I get about 3 minutes, if we consider Millar and Wiggins to be somewhat equal in capacity.

Then you might have asked how much time will JRod loses to the ITT winner.

I've said this quite a few times before. Last year Frank Schleck crashed on stage 3 of the Tour, there was one more week between the Tour and the Vuelta and the first serious Vuelta climb was in stage 8, whereas this year is in stage 4, and it is significantly harder. Don't expect big things from the Wigginses, the Van den Broeckes and the Klödens that crashed on stage 9 of the Tour: they've got 2 weeks less for recovery before the first real mountain than FSchleck got last year.

The best TT'er in the race? Form and motivation are random this late in the season, but Wiggins may have a hard time beating Martin and Cancellara.

As for JRod, he will be around 3:30 behind the winner. But that reference will be irrelevant for his GC chances.

Well if you read some of the articles during the TDF that concluded that since Uran stayed with the leaders on Plateau de Beille, Wiggins would have won the Tour, you might see why.

Though I would say that Wiggins would be capable in challenging this field. His problems are that hes coming back from injury and I dont believe he cares too much about the Vuelta.

he a better GC rider than most posters seem to suggest but he is coming back from injury. It would be fairly remarkable if achieves anything GC wise at this tour. I also believe his tempo climbing style puts him in better sted than a lot would agree but to win this Vuelta. No chance.

Not a Scot,Irish/English but personally I think it makes little diffrence. But that is an amusing clip. I like Brad and probably rate hi. Higher than a lot of others it just seems blindly optimistic,
