Il Lombardia 2024, one day monument, October 12, farewell to Domenico Pozzovivo

Every pre race he's in reduced to a "where will he launch his solo" guessing game. Side talk is what record there is to break today.

I can count myself lucky I liked Pogacar from the start, and I think I still do. If I didn't maybe I'd stopped watching cycling - at least for awhile - like I did after Froome - Porte demolition combo and Visma won few races in a row and pick winner at will. It's hard to be objective as sport fan. But even so, maybe I'll get to that point too with him, even that I like him, he's dominant in the extreme even the race for second felt done by broken people.

Nothing cycling needs more than a reeled-in Pog's solo, fantasy stuffs like that.
I liked Pogacar's attacking style for a while, but he became too dominant (for me) and him winning is too predictable for the good of cycling.

The whole peloton should ride against Pogacar. Attack him if he has mechanical.
Clog the road and block him from ever getting to the front of the peloton. I think Ganda is a good chokepoint for a few dozen riders to eliminate him.

Are there any local farmers who would want to stop the race (behind the breakaway)?

Such a strike would be destructive in a good way.

Not going to work.
Get the local farmers to hobble Pog and he might not win.

Vingegaard did it in the Tour, just one time. It turned out to be the end of his spell of form and the beginning of Pogi's though :)

Dominance is boring, that's just how it is. It's not exciting to watch. But that's not the problem of the guy or the team who's winning. It's up to the rest to find a way to beat them.

Saturday, 10:30 AM, Bergamo. The organizers are confused as Tadej Pogacar is the only rider at the start. There have been rumors about a mysterious virus in the peleton but they are not confirmed. A lot of riders were seen by locals in pubs in the city. It's said they don't want to race against the modern cannibal anymore.

After a long discussion, the organizers decided to let Teddy go. The Slovenian promises to attack early and make it interesting. Hovewer, TV operators are not happy about a very low views count and want to show some soap operas instead. The organizers call off the race after Pogi's 200 km solo. A loud sound resembling laugh is heard from pubs in the city center. Pogi is not happy and has a heated discussion with the organizers. Compared to it the chat with Van Baarle was very very nice. Urshka has to give him sedatives. At night locals see someone similar to Roglic ski-jumping from the cathedral tower...
