This is a preview of 2025. Everyone avoiding racing with Pog

Everyone who? Certainly not the true cycling fans. Maybe the blind fanboy of one rider or another, but it wouldn't be a shame. They can return to the stadium. cycling remains one of the few universal sports where nationality comes after the rider. Eh, buthere is no show... but what would the show be? In the case of Lombardia a procession to S.Fermo to then discover that no one or almost no one has the legs and we arrive in a sprint with 4/5 riders? 200km of racing reduced to the last 5km, what a wonderful show! I have already seen too many of these so called "shows" in the last 20 years. I continue to prefer a solo attack of one hour. If Pogacar is too strong, then so be it. I don't think the era of Michael Schumacher or the Nadal-Federer duo was very different.

Pogacar is an absurd favorite according to odds:

Pogacar: 1.22
Pidcock: 15
Evenepoel: 17

I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before a WT race. The odds basically suggest that the only realistic way Pogi loses is by crash, mechanical or illness (I think that 0.15-0.2 can account for that).

In case of Pogacar a race-ending crash is rare indeed. Not sure how much it's due to lack. Still it cost him one Liege shot (as for other reasons, also Urshka's mother death cost him another Liege chance).

There still isn't a ~20% chance that he crashes out.

With all the hassle for me just to be able to bet, 1.22 is more like no money than free money. What a joke. So Remco.

The other riders. The other riders are supposedly avoiding racing with/against Pogacar.
LOL
forgive me if I'm rude, but then they would do well to retire in total shame, because they would not be worthy of the title of athletes (not even cyclists). If they are afraid and do not want to compete, they should hang up their bikes and go into agriculture, industry or get a job at KFC. Didn't Gimondi, Poulidor and Zoetemelk race when Eddy was around? Charles Barckley, John Stockton and Karl Malone what they did in the Jordan goat age?
Ps And believe me , none is more sad than me that Stockton-Malone never won a ring.🤪

Yeah, probably just people around here making things up.
Nobody is "avoiding Pogacar".

Crashes and illness I guess. Not even a mechanical would stop him.

It’s normal for the elite to avoid racing each other before a big race of the year. Especially in build up races. Pogi released his schedule in December before the others and saw very little of the big three prior to then (did remco even race LBL?)

you what would make me warm to Lombardia? if they raced it before the Giro. but it clashes with Romandie. now it's just sad. never got any expectation, never really warmed to it. the season ends, winter and cold will come. just sad. it would a great race before the Giro. but there's really no weekend available, and May 1st is already taken by Eschborn-Frankfurt WT
