Good point. Pog had way less time, but was still very impressive. Put up a fight way longer in that edition.

Beating Vingegaard twice is almost impossible to do unless your name is Pogacar. I'm not saying Almeida is close to Vingegaard's level, I'm just saying he never did these top performances in previous years. For me it is a bit silly to compare with TdS 2024, he still didn't race TdS 2025 so we never know what shape he will show there.

He's done similar performances but he met stronger competition hense wasn't winning..

If he didn't race Roglic (who wasn't convincing but still...Roglic), he would win TA 2023. He would be top favourite for Catalunya 2024, and would possibly win it if it wasn't for Pogacar.

I reckon Buitrago is the one most like to be ultra aggressive and launch in the opening third of the stage. It could be a threat if the likes of Skjelmose/Van Wilder/Lipowitz can latch onto such a move as they need far less time gap to flip the GC.

I am not sure.

Buitrago has been struggling with allergies and has a lot of time to make up.

It is also the first race after injury for him.

Think he just wants some race days before Ardennes.
