there's no beating this:

"Vingegaard takes water into his mouth, passing the gills just behind its head on each side. Dissolved oxygen is absorbed from—and carbon dioxide released to—the water, which is then dispelled. The gills are fairly large, with thousands of small blood vessels, which maximizes the amount of oxygen extracted"

our hero is going to win this race by 2 minutes. he clearly lost very little condition when he was wounded (rather than injured). all the talk that he might not even ride this year was just mind-games from his team

Ridiculous today and he’s going to feel even better.

Has he ever said so himself? That's not at all what it looked like to me.
Of course it doesn’t. Why wouldn’t he do the smart thing and wait for his team to help. Before coming up to the top he was looking back for them.

The fairytale story is well and truly alive. Now watch for the deflection and PR offensive which follows.

He is rewriting the entire rule book for Tour preparation. We could have riders stepping off the bike completely a few months prior to next years Tour if Vingegaard pulls this miracle off.

Crash was certainly not as bad as Froome's/Bernal's/Remco's(Lombardia) for him to come back to this form, this quick.

Only took him a few days in this Tour to get up to speed again. From here on, he will be scary (but I hope he cracks spectacularly on one stage just to show he is somewhat human).
