Jonas Vingegaard: Something is Rotten

If she so far doesn't know about the programs... Let's hope she's the next Betsy.
If the statements are true, she doesn't have any reason.

Sacrifices have to be made like every rider. He earns millions per year.

Like i said again, if those statements are true. Sometimes, thinks are taking out of context.

I'm not discussing the article. I'm watching and reading everything from the eyes of a journalist or detective trying to find out where the leaks might occur in possible future doping crusades. Not like it would all be like the Lance saga, but that story might at least give a hint. And if she talks already now it might mean something or it might not. Either way I'm just curious about the future is all :)

Be careful what you wish for.. You obviously are selective about the Andreu- Armstrong love triangle. Betsy is a revisionist at best. Was she betrayed by Armstrong? By all means, the real betrayal was with, from the man she married, the husband she slept with, filthy Frankie.
Frankie Andreu not only used drugs as a rider, but he knew of drug use while he worked in US Postal management position. The pretty package, w a beautiful bow that is it's all Armstrong's fault is a storybook fable, happy ending with one or 2 easy villains.
The Frankie fable is also has a couple issues with the plot twist and clean crescendo.. Armstrong got cancer in 1996, Andreu was already a deeper story by his account in 1995.. Armstrong after cancer rode filthy dirty, ever increasing secrecy and isolation, training in Europe but also doing isolation closed camps in Hawaii, Colorado to get the recipe right. Andreu is absolutely no hero, nobody to be admired.
A slow evolving scandal is what severely damaged racing, if Vingegaard or anyone else is dirty, any person with current knowledge and are going to use the tired and terrible " I couldn't tell because... " BS should be banned from cycling permanently..
Had Frankie Andreu not been a doper , or used drugs but turned himself in.. The Armstrong Armageddon might have never happened. Armstrong was in an arms race to see who's program would prevail and the hundreds, if not thousands remaining silent..

If she so far doesn't know about the programs... Let's hope she's the next Betsy.

Given the controlling nature of her comments, do you believe she doesn't know exactly what Vingo is doing? Would be massively surprising.

Jonas wife is right. If Visma doesn't dedicate themselves fully for Jonas then he could potentially go empty handed with 0 grand tours in 2 seasons. If Visma let's other riders chase their own ambitions that means they think Vingegaard is inferior to Pogacar.

We haven't forgotten the clown show of Wout when he lost a 3 vs 1 to Powless. He has had plenty of chances to 'chase ambitions' in the spring but he failed, now it's time to solely work for Jonas.

Edit: Yikes, posted in the wrong Jonas thread.

No, this is the correct Jonas thread. The other one is the Narnia one where people believe in Mr. Tumnus. This one is for the party poopers who like a reality check.

As for his wife's comments, as the French would say... c'est lunaire.

There's so much wrong with everything she said and the first thing she should do right now is resign as his manager. Pronto. A manager should look after the rider's interests, not humiliate him publicly.

Whether or not you think that she is right, I do think it's a bit embarrassing for him that his wife has publicly tried to dictate team policy in the media. She is batting for her husband but that's not exactly going to help Jonas with the other riders in the Visma team.

Not convinced tbh. If she is controlling he will keep things from her. If she isn't he will more likely to tell her.

If the team finds her problematic they will try to keep things from her etc.

What their relationship dymamic looks like to me; either she simply has real concern for him and possibly talks while he can't. Or they're in a couple power struggle.

Jonas doesn't look like a pushover to me. I know people love to see him as such, but I don't think he is.

Did anyone watch Plan B when angry Jonas refused to go on the cool down bike?

Being unstable and a pushover isn't the same thing. I believe he's more of the former. Unstable yes, but with a will of steel.

Fwiw I liked Brunyel reaction to the interview saying the interview probably was made before but saved until now for effect. That was my thoughts too.

The interview was done mid-June.

The outlet was supposedly a 'respectable' outlet as well.

Bruyneel and guys like him just cope for a living. They cope everything about the sport and defend its protagonists to the bitter end. The truth is something really funky happened there between Vinge, his agent/wife and Visma, i.e. no amount of people in the pro-cycling business handwaving it (or blaming the media which they love to manipulate so much when it suits them) will make it 'disappear'.
