Thanks

Well, this could get very childish and boring

"Its their fault"
"No, its theirs"

Or one side could produce evidence of his whereabouts at the time of the BP anomaly. Which looks like he was at Sky.

BC and UKAD will both have his ADAMS info which I assume Brailsford has access to as head of BC's elite performance program.

Which means Brailsford looks stupid either way. He either took on a rider without checking he was legit or he knowingly took on a doper. I guess the latter.

JTL 2010 and 2011 could actually finish a race, not like 2013. So he may have been using a little back then, whereas I think we all agree he's done nothing this year.

What I can't quite get my head around is how he got busted as a lowly Continental rider not part of the ABP. He would have been blood tested OoC on very few occasions, maybe 2-3 times max. He was either doing a ridiculous amount of EPO or was unlucky and got tested close to a withdrawal (BBs wouldn't make sense at his level though). In either case it would have been obvious to anyone who saw the results that he had been doping so I guess neither of the two teams bothered to look. I also wonder if they needed to target test him after the initial dodgy result in order to establish a baseline (hence why it took until Q3 2013)? Maybe he got a sniff that something was up and that was the reason for going cold.

Seriously can we lay off the this 'Brits' ********. If anyone talks that way about Italians the baying mob comes calling and you get PMs from Mods. I'm British and I find sniping of this nature unpleasant. Just grow up.

It certainly looks this way, which shows Team Sky up even more if you ask me.

The Beefeaters are currently escorting him out of the country.

LOL

It will be easier I think for Sky to put the blame on JTL before he joined Sky as at the moment this is what its pointing to.

Brian Smith who sometimes guests on Eurosport during the season stood by him during the original accusations and is now saying at the time he was at a Sky Camp, its pretty messy really.

How so? JTL's seems a story old as time: dope to get the fat contract then lay off it judging by his atrocious 2013. You can sneer at their 'meticulous' selection policy but it certainly looks makes them look clean: why stop doping a doper if there was a team program? Britain rode for JTL at the Worlds remember, so it's not as if Brailsford didn't see JTL as a potential member of the inner cabal.

Presumably his blood values in 2012 were under the 50% limit, else he would have been flagged for exceeding that. It is the comparison between those and the ones from 2013 that raised the alarm, so his blood values while riding for Sky showed up his values from the previous years as erroneous. You can spin it other ways of course but those are the supposed 'facts' of his violation.

Many people seemed to be OK with it when the Spaniards were the favoured target though.

Ah ok fine then, two wrongs do make a right....

Cultural stereotyping of any kind is unkind and unpleasant to hear at beat, at worst becomes a latent form of racism. If we're seriously discussing doping then these sort of statements have no place here.

Seriously can we lay of these off-topic crybaby posts filling threads, when instead you should report it or post it in the about the forum section.

Sometimes when certain members go overboard, we're walking in tears to our knees...

You're not a mod, so please STFU.

tend to agree, think Sky comes out somewhat neutral here.

I would rather spend time and resources going after the rider agent element. How deep does the rot go?

note: personally don't think Sky is more advanced than other teams with respect to recruitment etc.

Seriously **** you Netserk, Ban me if you like it I won't miss this place at all but that is a ****ty way to talk to me and I won't put up with up. You are a poor excuse for a mod if you think posting like is acceptable.

I agree that the word "Brit" isn't significant here.

It significant to Sky because he is their rider, not because he is British.

Having said that a few of the people who used the word "Brit" may have been using it, not as a racist generalization that since he is British that means British people are more likely to dope, but rather as a response to the idea that has been put forward in the past - that Brits and anglos don't or are less likely to dope- with the latest news on JTL representing to them evidence that reputes that theory, which brings out a truimphant - "I thought Brits didn't dope".

As has been pointed out many times there have been many British athletes sanctioned for doping offences, I at least know we're not whiter than white. There is the little Englander attitude of some sort of moral superiority but it's now all pervasive. The writing has been on the wall for a while for JTL, misgivings have been expressed here before, even by me I think, literally no surprises from me. And very disappointed with him too. Glad he's been caught.
