So JTL will get his passport re-calibrated. Will that be the result?

Wonder how an independent anti dope unit would do here. Perhaps banned already one could hope.

JTL will not be banned, but he might not ride for Sky again.

How long does his contract with Sky run for?

He might spend a season training in sky colours, but i would be surprised to see him entered into a race.

Christ, what on earth will he do in the intervening 91 year period?

Where did veloclinic get his info?

And surely you, Tyler Twin, and catwhoorg, would be playing the "lab error" card if it was (only) one value that was suppressed?

That reverse stem must make steering very dangerous. Poor old guy, must have a back injury. Love to see that GoPro film - right after a night of holiday slides. I'll be on my second wrist before the first km.

ret% is subject to errors that much is true.

But 0.1% is pretty durn low for anyone who is alive. Thats basically complete suppression of new RBC production.

Or a lab error. Maybe the sample was mishandled? Got heated up too much during transport? You've changed your tune, dude, what happened?

Ryder's retics jumped from 1.34 to 1.71 between 7am and 6pm. If we allow .37 "error", JTL's value could have been as high as 0.5% retics. Still low, but nowhere near as crazy as 0.1%.

No I haven't.

I understand variation in testing.
I deal with it on a daily basis in my RL job.

The difference between 1.34 and 1.71 is significantly smaller than 0.1 and 0.5.

(In simple terms at ~25% error, versus a ~400% error)

But we haven't seen that the 0.1% ret% is a real value, or just speculation.

So, its months since the case was started, and its weeks since he sent in his evidence, since when he's heard nothing, or nothing he's admitting to.
But he's back with Sky in pre-season training, which he intends to do differently from last year.

I still wonder if they are going to hang him out to dry, as a warning to others that the BP has teeth and being the same nationality as the head of UCI doesn't give you protection.

It'd be a good message, but a shame if an innocent cyclist is ruined on the way.

There's also the possibility he's stuck in between not sanctioned and not racing. That's happened before. IMHO, Sky is making ASO good money, so, no positive.

The bio-passport goes to great lengths to accommodate false positives to the point it leaves relatively easy opportunities to dope. Not much possibility of a false positive going all the way to sanctioning.

He failed the IQ test. Since this is cycling, we just wait and see if sanctions are ever announced and what, if anything happens to the guy.
