He suffered an small acident in January (run over, but no details of the circumstances) that prevented him atteding the Vuelta presentation. The pain started a few days after. What everyone thought it was a tendinitis has ended being diagnosed as a sural nerve injury. He still has some pain, but during training rides sometimes it goes away after 2 or 3 hours and the harder the effort the less is the pain. He started normal training 5 weeks ago and his goal is to see if he can stand the efforts of actual competition.

Sounds about right! Maybe Cali? I don't even know what races he'd otherwise race in that period, maybe some of the smaller spanish stuff.

Of course, if he's the only one who rides, it'll greatly improve his chances as winning.

Good to have him back! Still riding with pain, hopefully no setback. Solid prologue today, but this is a different effort than long stages so we have to wait if he can finish this week.
I think this was very impressive indeed.

Im at a loss. I experienced something similar yesterday when I realized RHCP released an album last year and I had not heard jackshit about it. Or maybe I just forgot it. Shame, it was a decent race at a time when nothing is going on outside the Giro

I can then tell you: they released not only one but two new albums last year. First a stinker in April and then repeated the achievement with another one in October.

His TT position seems more efficient than last year. Seems his elbow are more to the front which allows him to hide behind his hands while keeping a relative flat back. (something now possible with the new rules?)
