Doesn't the TT position mean the top riders are losing a significant amount of watt on the TT bike? So the numbers from PDBF TT should be a bit lower than what he could do on a road bike?

True, but on PDBF he did like 6.6-6.7 w/kg, which was a significant part of the whole ITT. The average number is probably too high anyway due to quite a large part of rolling TT.

How does San Milan know that? There is no data at all from the TT never mind PDBF segment. He also was not at the Tour to see 1st hand.

Either Inigo Milan just stated what Pog is capable of and kinda justified his ridiculous PDBF performance or they actually had some data and only stated they didn't (in this case the doctor let the cat out of the bag).

Darn this must be so frustrating for him.

Some more details:

The problems began in late January. He was going to debut in the Volta to the Valencian Community when ten days before he began to notice discomfort in the back of his right leg. "We did an ultrasound and a CT scan. We saw there was discomfort in the Achilles Tendon and we decided to stop it for a while. We prefer not to rush to compete," says Josean Fernández Matxín. The tendinitis in the achilles tendon that Juan Ayuso drags should have remitted and allowed him to compete in the Volta a Catalunya and in the Itzulia, but there is no good news and yes there is a lot of concern in the team.

Ayuso has gone to several prestigious traumatologists but they have not yet found the key. 'We've talked to everyone and the best thing is to have four weeks of training in a row. He has been rolling gradually for two weeks and when he exhausts that period, once he has recovered in an absolute way, we will make the decision of the perfect calendar for him," says Fernández Matxín.

Chronic tendinitis is the most insidious of injuries. Could plague him on and off for his entire career.

Not a bad start at Romandie. But no conclusions can be made from this according to him.

Short summary of the link below.
He suffered an small acident in January (run over, but no details of the circumstances) that prevented him atteding the Vuelta presentation. The pain started a few days after. What everyone thought it was a tendinitis has ended being diagnosed as a sural nerve injury. He still has some pain, but during training rides sometimes it goes away after 2 or 3 hours and the harder the effort the less is the pain. He started normal training 5 weeks ago and his goal is to see if he can stand the efforts of actual competition.
