I don't. Ayuso has been touted as the next big thing since he was a junior, is objectively the best teenage climber in history and was probably promised some big things in order for his pen to hit Emirati paper. In all likelihood he has been surrounded by yes-men for a long portion of his short career. Once you hear 'yes' for long enough, you'll start to believe in delusions to a point where one thinks they deserve things they can hardly dream about. Very footballesque behaviour.
Also, didn't mou say that Ayuso's parents were very wealthy? Maybe he has been spoiled from the beginning.

Ayuso still not being in the Vuelta squad (1st on reserve list) coupled with Gianetti's previous comments really looks like some kind of penalty by the team. Which maybe means that COVID wasn't the only reason for his Tour exit? Why to blame a sick rider, who couldn't continue anymore? The penalty is about something else. Those previous rumors about him not being a team player maybe are becoming reality.

Almeida wasn't exactly known as a great teammate ahead of the 2024 Tour de France either!
Yes, but Almeida still did a great job for Pogacar in the Tour. There are no excuses for Ayuso. Seems very selfish, impatient for his own results and unrealistic knowing who he was hired to be riding in support of. Lucky for UAE that Pogacar didn't need Ayuso. Had Vingegaard not suffered the consequences of his Basque crash it might have been different.

But he's not a superstar - yet and I don't see how he would ever become another Soler? He is riding in the same team as Pogacar. At 21, he needs to wait and deliver solid results in service for his leader then he has earned the right. Like João Almeida.

In 2008 Andy Schleck showed how it should be done. Andy came 2nd in the 2007 Giro when he was just 22. At the 2008 Tour Andy rode as part of a three pronged CSC team. Carlos Sastre won the Tour. No complaints from Andy.
Andy wasn’t irritated about working for Sastre or Frank, he and Frank were irritated since they thought Frank could have won if Sastre didn’t attack.

Almeida rode in support for Pogacar in multiple races before the Tour, helped Majka last year, and has helped out other teammates in different races. His only big complaint was dropping back to help Evenepoel at the Giro that cost him a lot of time and potential podium, then the issue with Ayuso at the Vuelta last year though without Almeida getting sick they finish very close to the same time and Ayuso wasn’t close to getting third at all. Now should he have worked for Ayuso, most likely, but I can understand why he didn’t concerning the circumstances. Pogacar is the undisputed leader and prior above Ayuso, there shouldn’t have been problems.

According to https://as.com/juegos_olimpicos/ayuso-tres-semanas-sin-bici-por-el-covid-y-piensa-en-la-vuelta-n/
and

As mentioned, part of the reason for Ayuso's recent struggles has been Covid and the subsequent struggles to return to a top level. "It has been three difficult weeks. Today I thought I would not even finish," the 21-year-old continues his reflection. "Then, at times I saw myself dreaming of the medal. I have suffered as much as I could and that makes me feel proud. I thought that in three or four days I would be fine, like other times I had COVID, but this time, for reasons unknown to me, I have been three weeks without getting on the bike."
3 weeks without getting on the bike does not sound well for the chance of doing the Vuelta.

So the team is just being smart, if he isnt selected.

Ayuso doesnt know what is good for him. He is not prepared to start the Vuelta or will be able to a good result atm. The team knows that.

Ayuso will participate at Vuelta and won't work neither for Yates or Almeida. The rest, what UAE is saying, is BS. They know that if they don't keep him happy, then Ayuso will switch teams. It's as simple as that. And UAE for sure doesn't want for that to happen, so they know what they must do next.

UAE has Ayuso under contract for infinite years. They are in control and can make him ride whatever races they desire based on the riders available. Thats on Ayuso, and whats also on Ayuso is the way he behaved recently.

As said, read such UAE talks as BS. It's UAE who needs to make a step back now, or the relationship will become tainted and more importantly, history.

UAE can do whatever they want, they have him locked up. It would take a large sum of money to buy him free. Ayuso has signed a contract, u know.

If you raise that point in the Uijtdebroeks thread, you will be called out for endorsing slavery!

Sure. Like Patrick already hinting that he might be OK with Remco leaving for a sandwich and a juice. That is couple mills. For sure Gianetti talking about 100 millions has much to do with reality. And for sure such publick shaming and mobbing will last for long.

If this ends up ugly then UAE will get peanuts. So it's time to step back and to start rewarding Ayuso, well, for being Ayuso. Otherwise what the *** are you doing anyway. Trying to mould Ayuso into something he isn't?

Why? Historically speaking, that never ever worked, such marriage. And didn't you used to like Ayuso, as rider? If i remember correctly you predicted, each time, he will beat Rogla. Obviously he didn't, but still.

So Ayuso is doing Vuelta and UAE will take a step back, or else, on top of that he will be co-leader. That is my prediction. On what ends up happening we'll find out soonish.

Sure; to the extent they still honor their obligations in the deal.

But it’s not really in UAEs best interest to do anything else than to treat him as the future GT winner they are currently overpaying him to be.

Ayuso is too ambitious to settle in for a Richie Porte role; that sucks on one hand, but it can also help him win big bike races.

Why wouldn't they let him ride, I hope the teams doesn't let some pettiness come in between. He's probably still their best chance of winning the Vuelta, Yates and Almeida are good but have a Tour in their legs, and McNulty can be inconsistent as well.

No, he is not. He is not a world class climber and he was the man who created all this scenario. He is arrogant and doesn't deserve to be part of the team. He really shoot himself in the head on Galibier and he probably ruined his career. Now, he will probably end in Movistar and they are not a great team anymore.

If they have to punish Ayuso, over something, then making him ride Vuelta while being trained by Iñigo San Millán. That should do it?

Anyway. In my opinion Ayuso will do Vuelta 2024 and if he doesn't then it's time to start looking for another team, as what else are you then going to do at UAE, beyond wasting some time.
