I'm expecting even more spicy comments from Ayuso when he officially leaves the team, prepare your popcorn.
It doesn't matter, he can never say that publicly, even if the first one was a rider from another team.

When the time comes, I'd also like Pogacar to talk about him one day.
Everyone talks about Pogacar , about the conflicts between his teammates, except him.

That's the famous loser's mentality. Going from saying in January that he wanted to be the best in the world and beat him, to saying he's helping someone else beat him. Remco isn't Spanish or LIDL rider. He has nothing in common with him, and saying this puts him in a very bad position.

I tried to help Remco fight for the win

What a *** legend! One has to appreciate the honesty of Juanito :tearsofjoy:

The gift that keeps on giving.

No need to wait.. He is suddenly careful and doesn't mention which one of his soon to be ex UAE teammates are trashing him on the road. Nobody at UAE has anything so say about Ayuso but good luck..
But Pogacar is a bullie with Ayuso. If someone from UAE had made those statements against Ayuso, we wouldn't have read a lot on the forum 😅.
If UAE is going to live in Ayuso's head, soon it will be rent free..Trek paying rent for another team.

I think we need some Spanish guys to confirm it wasn't a mistranslation. This is absolute gold. I'm almost starting to like him for being so honest. Politt is updating Le Patron's black list as we speak (Jorgenson is not #1 anymore...)

Pogacar had Ayuso out of his head a few seconds after he walks out of the bus, or clears the line at the breakfast buffet.
Guy has too many goals, has too much focus and concentration to get caught up in a what went wrong catfight with Ayuso..
Nationality is important when ordering food but on the road, Belgian or Spanish not much different.

I find it very sad to be the fans' frustrated toy.
Like Vinicius in football.

When an athlete is more of a protagonist for his statements than for his sporting performance, he has a problem.

Sometimes we confuse sincerity with the desire to be the center of attention.

Pleasently surprised with his end of season shape and one day racing. Not bad at all, just needs a bit more endurance to fight for medals.

In PCS, they've added Ayuso to Lombardia, and Guangtxi.

Didn't they say he wouldn't be racing with UAE anymore?

Well, they probably want to reach 100 wins. That's why. They've sending him to Guangtxi, hoping he can win 2 stages and the GC.

He confirmed in the interview after The Europeans that it was his last race. Apparently, it had been an 'intense' season. Four one-day races, and a fairly serene Vuelta since May...

I read the original article the tweet quoted here

I am lost for words.

But if what he says is true...
I dislike this team more and more. They have so many riders I like, I find myself very conflicted. I wish Pogacar would get himself clued up on what UAE is doing in Sudan and break his contract to go and ride for EF or someone like that.

Honestly, I know Ayuso gets a lot of hate on this forum, but frankly good for him.

@noob Juanito keeps on delivering. I don't think it's the end. The team surely made some management mistakes regarding him but as for his teammates riding against him: for 4 years he hardly ever had to help Pog (so he was favoured in a way) and in the rest of their races usually there were co-leaders and no clear hierarchy (that's why there was some internal rivalry during races). It was the team's strategy and he can complain but thanks to it he had a shot at victory in almost all races he started.

When you’re the problem and unaware of it, of course you’re going to blame managment
+1000

How can a guy who, as a cadet, received help from Matxin so that his father would become the owner of that team complain about the management?

He's had Matxin's support since he was 15, and he's undoubtedly been one of the riders who has received the most support from the team. He hasn't accepted that there have been other cyclists as good, or even one much better, than him. That has been his problem.

A rider who joins the team with a previous relationship with one of the directors must have had every opportunity and facilities. The only thing he can hold against UAE is not having been the leader in the Tour, but nor would he have been at Visma, the reason is obvious. That's not a mistreated; it's a reality of having a superior teammate.

New poll for pog fans: who triggers you the most? Ayuso, Remco, Jonas, Merckx, Vino? Ayuso by a landslide, I think.
