I read the original article the tweet quoted here

I am lost for words.

But if what he says is true...
I dislike this team more and more. They have so many riders I like, I find myself very conflicted. I wish Pogacar would get himself clued up on what UAE is doing in Sudan and break his contract to go and ride for EF or someone like that.

Honestly, I know Ayuso gets a lot of hate on this forum, but frankly good for him.

@noob Juanito keeps on delivering. I don't think it's the end. The team surely made some management mistakes regarding him but as for his teammates riding against him: for 4 years he hardly ever had to help Pog (so he was favoured in a way) and in the rest of their races usually there were co-leaders and no clear hierarchy (that's why there was some internal rivalry during races). It was the team's strategy and he can complain but thanks to it he had a shot at victory in almost all races he started.

When you’re the problem and unaware of it, of course you’re going to blame managment

How can a guy who, as a cadet, received help from Matxin so that his father would become the owner of that team complain about the management?

He's had Matxin's support since he was 15, and he's undoubtedly been one of the riders who has received the most support from the team. He hasn't accepted that there have been other cyclists as good, or even one much better, than him. That has been his problem.

A rider who joins the team with a previous relationship with one of the directors must have had every opportunity and facilities. The only thing he can hold against UAE is not having been the leader in the Tour, but nor would he have been at Visma, the reason is obvious. That's not a mistreated; it's a reality of having a superior teammate.

New poll for pog fans: who triggers you the most? Ayuso, Remco, Jonas, Merckx, Vino? Ayuso by a landslide, I think.

Super weird that Juan didn't include the other additions to his contract like washing and folding Isaac Del Toro's laundry, making sure Isaac's bed is made, slippers and fresh towels waiting as he exits the bath or shower. Juan responsible for ensuring that Del Toro has fresh cut flowers daily and Del Toro dog is walked, washed and brushed out. Ayuso was to wash, lubricate and check tire pressure on Del Toro's bicycle and remove the special seat cover for Isaac before he rides.
I think that I heard Ayuso needed to ride ahead and get a table for Isaac and friends to enjoy coffee, pastries and delicious mid, post ride chocolates.
This is not a kiss and tell story, Juan's feelings are hurt and he needs that victim feedback, so everyone knows all those mean people who work at the dictator factory are just not nice. I hope he gave the interview while holding a teddy bear, blanket and sippy cup. I always heard that a woman scorn thing, but apparently it's men too. Ayuso probably checks Del Toro fan club numbers social media hits ..alone in his room.
Ayuso spent a few years in Atlanta Georgia and Ayuso English is awesome.
Del Toro is just so so and he really struggles to find the words, so Just Ayuso is better than Isaac in that area..
So Team Trek thinks trashing old boss and team, instigating a feud is a good start for new beginning? Maybe Juan is right, maybe UAE needs some extra motivation..

I don't agree. I have the feeling that in 2021, Pogacar got too comfortable. I'm not saying this because he lost afterward, but because he already won the Tour on Stage 8, winning by more than three minutes over the peloton at le Grand-Bronand. And his training routines, especially for the Tour, weren´t a bit serious.

Allan Peiper knew him best and already said something about this, and that he might have gone into Tokyo overconfident.
UAE wasn't an overly strong team either; they settled for him winning the race by just enough.
They signed Majka and little else.

Vingegaard, in the end, was an important part of his drive to push himself harder.
What would now be VDP, the training he does for the cobbles classics is to be able to beat him. I suppose beating someone like VDP on De Ronde was the impetus for him to go to Paris-Roubaix and believe he can do it
