That as well. Ala always had a far better chance to get a win in some GT stage than in a classic anyway, so potentially causing more problems down the line to chase a misplaced goal was always a bad idea.
He said he should have waited and raced the ardennes classics instead. I find it very odd that he would not think that in the first place. He should have won Amstel in 2019 (even if the course is not perfect for him), fleche used to be his race etc etc. These races fit him better.
It really must have been that, even if he and remco get along, that he didn't see enough chances for himself where remco is riding.

The meandering focus of the Pack was an inevitable outcome trying on the GT mantle. They couldn't build a team all at once and Remco hadn't delivered in the terrain that would secure a GT for them. They still need results and here we are....kinda broken on both ends.

A good performance today. Unfortunately, he didn't get the stage win. He's getting better. I'm optimistic he can get the stage win this giro to complete the treble.
I hope so, but Patrick is probably spweing beer and foaming at the mouth right now. I'm sure he thinks that handing a bottle should have been the magic sauce.

The sport is better when Ala is doing his thing! Maybe too much to expect him to return to a level of fighting for big classic wins, but I'll take all I can get of him animating or winning races.
