Here's a question I haven't seen asked-

Since Tom Danielson was one of the Garmin riders recently outed by Vaughters, does this mean he is one of the ten riders who gave testimony to the USADA about Armstrong?

When I first heard about riders giving testimony I ran over all the names who were on Postal. Tommy D's name was on that list. Along with CVV, Zabriskie and Vaughters. Add in Leipheimer, Hincapie, Andreu, Landis, Hamilton and add in a few other possibilities (Livingstone maybe) and you can see the pattern. Wonder if Popovich talked?

I don't believe in coincidences. There is a reason a lot of the quiet and unforgotten ex-Postal riders are at Garmin. Birds of a feather flock together. And yeah, they all would have been approached and could have run it over with one another. I'm fairly certain they knew this was on the cards a long time ago. Last time JV was on here he said what has happened these last few months, and what will happen was foreseeable two years ago. I believe he said it in an article somewhere as well. Most of the stuff that will come out is well known around here on the forum. It's just the juicy personal stuff behind the scenes...the really nasty stuff that we haven't heard.

And yeah, I think a lot of Garmin guys will be sitting some time out in the off season. 6 month suspensions is my guess. Has been for months now. No Olympics...no world championships. Lol. Not a coincidence all the big names who likely talked missed out. What I do hope is that USADA go after Horner. He needs to squeal a bit IMO. Put him under pressure. Selling out in your older years is beyond idiocy as far as I am concerned. It was quite clear he was on the same program as Lance from 2009 onwards.

I wonder how the investigation into Weltz' is going.
Wait, what investigation?
Hell, even Sky now looks more willing to provide transparency than Garmin. Sky at least pretend to be 'investigating' Leinders.

Why would I investigate Weltz? I told him to quit lying. He did. End of story.

Hmm, you should waterboard him just in case.:D

Quick question, on a different topic.

In your opinion, who was the first users of EPO in the peleton?

You don't have to name spesific names if that is difficult. I'm kinda interested in when it made it's appearence.

I'f you don't know, an educated guess would be fine too.

a quick question or 2,

Who are the highly sophicticated dopers on 'new age team' Garmin?

What do you think of the statement that the so called' dark era' of cycling not ended but continuing under a new guise?

You asked JV a question - that you made up?
Perhaps sniper will answer it for you - he is good at making up stuff on JV too.

Please do not forget to use the opportunity that JV ignored your made up points as proof that he is upholding Omerta.

If you stopped speaking out your proctal then no-one would have to examine it.

As JV is an adult - he probably will ignore your made up mumblings.

If you stopped sticking your head up my proctal and clogging this thread maybe mosre people will contribute.

I quote Dr Ashenden the 'adult' blood specialist. Maybe 'adult' Vaughters would like to answer his accusations.

I wil not be surprised if he doesn't. Seems to be par for the course for 'new age teams' nowadays to ignore accusations of doping.

Your quoting Ashenden - great, can you quote him where he says Garmin. Thanks.

Maybe JV would answer questions (and more people would contribute) if people did not make up stuff for him to answer.

Because he totally has to answer to internet trolls on a forum. Right. I'm amazed he actually posts here, let alone is willing to answer questions. Would be nice to have at least a little gratitude.

In case the Vaughter fanboys seem to have missed it, i will post it once again,

I am led to believe that there are pockets of organised, highly sophisticated dopers even within ‘new age’ cycling teams. Personally, I don’t accept that the ‘dark era’ has ended, it has just morphed into a new guise.

Now if you stopped giving Vaughters a proctal exam you might read some damning accusations.

If you want to keep misrepresenting my posts.

I suppose Ashenden is also a troll. Hates cycling does he?

I love this quote which could be attributed to Vaughters and fans

Despite the self-serving data bending and associated propaganda to the contrary

He's no saint.

This is the guy that doped, lied to his employer/Team as a rider, and was ready to dope again AND make stuff up to cover for the doping that his DS apparently forbid.

His first as jv1973 post here coincided with some legitimate doubts regarding his team's performance. And then again vaguely around the time of his strategic confession where he outs a couple of riders as previously doping among a number of strategic responses.

While he has advanced an anti-doping agenda to some degree, I think it's reasonable to describe his strategy as "anti-doping controversy" more than anything.

Still, what little he's contributed has helped the general anti-doping efforts, but probably helped meet some unspoken personal/political goal even more.

Yes - they are damning comments.
Comments - as in what he actually says.

Ashenden is certainly not a troll.
But you are - when you use what he has said to pursue your own agenda.

He used the term 'new age teamS'.

I actually took that as being grammatically correct - not something you would know about.
But even if he is saying more than one team - you still have no idea which teams he is on about.

Funny post, but Maserati has a point as Mishrak notes below.

Wow, another voice of reason. Be careful or you will be labeled an upholder of omerta or JV apologist. I'm amazed at the antidoping crusaders hanging about here, banging out questions on their keyboards for the CN forum, thinking they will change the system.

truth can be stranger than fiction.

irony given your chosen moniker.

Hard to believe JV was 100% clean in 2000/2001 when you see him 9" behind a top doped Hamilton in Ventoux stage of the Dauphiné in 2000

1 Hamilton Tyler US Postal Service 4.21.26
2 Zülle Alex Banesto +04"
3 Van De Wouwer Kurt Lotto-Adecco +07"
4 Vaughters Jonathan Crédit Agricole +09"
...
11 Armstrong Lance US Postal Service +1.13"

Even if JV was riding for a french team, i think he could take some Edgar without beeing popped by the post-Frestina blood monitoring, in the same team Moreau was 4th in the TdF and was known as quite dirty.

1.Here, I'll answer: None/No one. What a stupid baseless question.

2.Michael Aschenden has done blood analysis for our team before. Please see his remarks in Wall Street Journal regarding public posting of Vandevelde and Millar blood profiles. He analyzed the profiles.

3. Ouch... Man, sucks to have to eat the foot and the shoe, eh?

No idea who, but would have been around 1990, I think.

I'm not saying he's a saint by any means. I'm just appreciative that he posts here and is willing to be forthright in a generally hostile environment (as most internet forums tend to be in regards to controversial topics). It's unexpected, because as DS of a pro cycling team, he carries a high profile and has a lot more to lose from giving up the anonymity of the internet than the average joe.
