Gentle(wo)men,
please desist from venting at other members. It is not acceptable.

This thread is JV talks, sort of.

Please let JV sort of talk

Ask JV some questions, have a discussion with him. Thats it.

Stop the baiting, stop the bullying, stop the personal attacks.

Final warning.

bison

good post hog ;)

Gentle(wo)men,
I have opened a new JV/Garmin thread where you can discuss his bona fides as a paragon of a cleanER peloton.

http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=22800

This thread is for discussion with JV. Let him/all of us discuss without harassment and abuse

cheers

Apologies for a parrot post, should have been on this thread.

JV - if you lurk could you possibly send me a PM about my thoughts on this topic. I have tried sending you a PM but your box is predictably spammed to the max and I don't think a public reply would be conducive either. After a box clearout hope they don't spam your PM box up so my reply will fail to be sent. Though administrators here really should increase your mailbox quota :D

You could always delete the other one.

Seriously, this why trying to fracture the JV conversation into two, separate threads is not likely to increase the value of either.

Also, JV is a free soul, what happens when he engages in the other JV thread? Merged with this one and a third one will be created?

I went out to work right after - I would rather have it here. Most vbulletin setups don't let users do that so I'll delete it on the other side. I posted it right around after you split the topics.. I think you'll find aside from that mistake I've tried to keep my remit as tight as possible asking questions. I also asked him to split our conversation with a PM too lol.

Hey Gavandope, somewhere earlier in this thread JV suggested people email him - I did, and he was very courteous and helpful. You need to derive his email address from somewhere, but it's certainly not difficult to do.

JV - apologies for bringing this up again if you've since thought better of your offer, and thanks for taking time to engage.

The obviousness of this needs to be repeated.

Not to mention, I just slogged my way through the last several pages of the other JV thread. Most of what is posted there now is exactly the kind of thing that would provoke a response from JV. Once he arrived, he could be engaged in more polite and civil exchanges, but the polite and civil questions were never what brought JV out of the woodwork to begin with. He would always show up when he felt incensed about something posted in The Clinic, but never, that I can recall, because of some innocent curiosity directed his way (with very few exceptions, he has posted a few entries in the PRR sub-forum).

So if history is any precedent, if JV returns at all, it will most likely be in response to something posted about him in the other thread. Not something posted for him in this thread.

So what are the chances of a real life sit-down between you two?

Diggs? You up for it?

It could very well end up saving the Internet. :)

In other news, Digger and I have reconciled. A deal brokered by Floyd Landis himself. Makes me happy. So, with that, I don't need to keep arguing away here.

Best of luck to all you guys in your endeavors! I'm sure I'll pop back in to say hello soon.

JV

And there you have it. I don't anticipate seeing much of anything from JV now anyway.

Winner! Winner!

Give the guy a break. He apparently just finished getting an MBA, so likely has other demands on his time that have been neglected.

He'll be back. He enjoys slumming with the Internet crackpots. Either that, or some "machine calibration errors" after the Vuelta will have to be managed.

Can we send this whole thread as evidence to USADA? Not for doping in cycling but for the existence of Santa Clause.

JV any insights into Project Platypus at Garmin/Cannodale? Is it working? Will you extend it into all races?

Do you think it will nullify the DS in the car? What do the riders think of it?

We were hoping for more than a forum discussion by now. :(

If theHog pays his own way (not beers) can he come along and observe? It will be a Clinic special by the Hog.

Sure thing.

Cool. I need to set up some stuff in Europe after the Tour. I'll be in touch. I'll be nice I promise.

Clinic special on Garmin.

JV, what do you think of Impey's week excuse? Joke right! Cool kids and new generation don't dope.....

Sadly Dan Martin thinks Impey is a cool kid.....what does that say about Martin.....

The story that doping left with Armstrong is such a farce.......

Watching Valverde it was hard not to think about his dog Piti.

Maybe cycling has cleaned up its act. Maybe.

But, what about Tennis, Football, Track, and who knows how many other sports that were friends of Dr. Fuentes?

The World Cup didn't exactly look like normal human performance.

Is it possible that someone, somewhere, has filled the Fuentes void?

Unfortunately, this seems quite probable as the universe abhors a vacuum. Where there is demand, there will be supply.

So, if the vacuum has been filled, then what are the chances that the occasional cyclist has fallen off the straight and narrow path?

It is a simple logic test, and it is compelling.

Dave.

So many people to fill the voids left by Fuentes. Look at German national squad's doctor, Kimmage remembers him being the Fagor team doctor.

If cycling has cleaned up its act, i imagine all the teams would be singing it from the highest possible buildings and doing more promoting how clean the sport is with more riders talking about how great they get tested so often and how other sports are so for behind...sadly this is not the case.

How many riders retweeted Kimmage's recent articles on Johannes Draaijer and talked about how good the peloton is clean now, never mind how good a set of articles it was.

I note Vaughters didn't retweet them, even though he follows Kimmage. Vaughters tweets fluff nowadays.

Kind of a breeze blowing through here lately after the house cleaning and many of the posters on a banhammer tour. :)

I am interested to hear more about the new merger.

Banhammer? So some people who usually attack each other here (and some did me; that´s why I try to avoid this place nowadays, thus I missed a lot of JVs posts), couldn´t resist to go on? Instead of using the chance to talk to JV in normal manners? I am impressed... not.

But I am impressed that JV had/has the nerves to talk back to even some of the worst. Applause.

@stefelt @oliverzaugg Congrats to your man for another day in red.

doping is ok once you serve your ban(including a winter one) then come back better than before you were doping!

and the snakeoil drips on...........

I definitely agree that if others are going to bash and insult JV that he has every right to come back with it...although he is mature compared to most doing the slinging.
Would people talk to someone's face in that manner?...no. or I would hope not..

it's not difficult to be civil and get your point or question out there.

I guess that´s why JV runs a team, while others just hammer there anger away at the keyboards.
